A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedule hereto are vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zealand, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such lands, and applications have been made for the removal of such restrictions:
It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excellency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the alienation of the said lands.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

ALL that piece of land situated in the Parish of Waiotahi, containing 20 acres, more or less, being Allotment No. 357, and being the whole of the land comprised in grant from the Crown entered in Vol. xviii., folio 123, of the Register-book.
All that piece of land situated in the Parish of Waiotahi, containing 21 acres and 20 perches, more or less, being Allotment No. 378, and being the whole of the land comprised in grant from the Crown entered in Vol. xviii., folio 188, of the Register-book.

ALL that piece of land situated in the Whakatane Survey District, containing 5 acres, more or less, being Allotment No. 281, in the Parish of Waiotahi, and being the whole of the land comprised in Vol. xviii., folio 201, of the Auckland District Land Register-book.
Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland, Marlborough, and Otago.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Marlborough, and Otago, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, situate in the Puniu Survey District, called or known as Section No. 282, in the Town of Kihikihi, and containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less. Bounded towards the North by Section No. 283, 400 links; towards the East by Macandrew Street, 250 links; towards the South by Macandrew Street, 400 links; and towards the West by Section No. 281, 250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on Plan No. 324 (in blue), and deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland. For a site for a pound.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, situate in the Russell Survey District, called or known as Sections Nos. 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 of Block XXI. of the Town of Opua, and containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 35 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the North by Franklin Street, 275 links, 123 links, and 98 links; towards the South-east by Kellet Street, 320 links and 395 links; and towards the West by Sections Nos. 13 and 7, 157 links, 16 links, and 200 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on Plan No. 3270 (in blue), and deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland. For a school site.
MARLBOROUGH.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Marlborough, containing by admeasurement 63 acres, more or less, being Section part 2 of No. 188, in the District of Kaikoura Suburban. Bounded towards the North-east by Section part 2 of No. 189, in the said district, 3150 links; towards the South-east by Section part 1 of No. 188, in the said district, 2000 links; towards the South-west by Section No. 187, in the said district, 3150 links; and towards the North-west by a public road 1 chain wide, 2000 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on the official map in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Blenheim. For a gravel-pit.
OTAGO.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 1 rood 4 perches, more or less, situate in the Tuapeka West District, and being Section No. 8 of Block XIV. of said district. Bounded towards the North by a road-line and Section No. 6 of same block, 968 links; towards the East by Sections Nos. 4 and 5 respectively of Block IX. of same district, 597 links; towards the South by Section No. 9 of same Block XIV., 416 links; towards the South-west by a road-line, 591 links; and towards the West by a road-line, 404 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a cemetery.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 10 acres and 5 perches, more or less, situate in the Lower Hawea District, and being Section No. 26 of Block IV. of said district. Bounded towards the North by Section No. 21 and a road-line, 1100 links; towards the East by said Section No. 21 of same block, 912 links; towards the South by said Section No. 21, 1100 links; and towards the West by said Section No. 21, 912 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a quarry.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 10 acres 1 rood 26 perches, more or less, situate in the Chatton District, and being Section No. 12 of Block X. of said district. Bounded towards the North-east by a road-line, 1432·9 links; towards the East by Section No. 9 of same block, 546 links; towards the South by Section No. 10 of same block, 1226 links; and
