Districts. Names and Offices of Returning Officers.

BAY OF ISLANDS.

All that area of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, bounded towards the South-west, North, and North-east by the sea; towards the South by the Rodney County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1883, No. 105, to the Wairoa River; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of the Poutu No. 2 Block, and by that block to the sea; including the adjacent islands. | Helyar Wedderburn Bishop, Esq., Resident Magistrate.

KAIPARA.

All that area of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, bounded towards the North by the Bay of Islands Native Committee District, hereinbefore described; towards the North-east and East by the sea to the Wairoa River; towards the South-east by that river and the Hunua and Opaheke Parishes to the Pahurehure River; towards the South by a line along the middle of that river and the Manukau Harbour; and towards the South-west by the sea; including the Great Barrier, Little Barrier, Kawau, Rangitoto, Motutapu, Waiheke, and other adjacent islands. | James Stephenson Clendon, Esq., Resident Magistrate.

WAIKATO.

All that area of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, bounded towards the North and North-west by the Kaipara Native Committee District, hereinbefore described; towards the North-east and East by the sea, and by the confiscation boundary-line to Pukemoremore; thence again towards the North-west by a right line to Te Aroha Mountain; again towards the North-east by the Tauranga County, as described in “The Counties Act, 1876,” to the Wairere Stream; towards the South by that stream; again towards the East by the Waihou River; towards the South-east by the Mangawhero Stream, by the Mangawhara Nos. 1, 1b, 2, 3, and 4, and Waipa Blocks, and by the Piarere Stream to the Waikato River; thence towards the South by that river to the confiscation boundary-line; again towards the South-east, South-west, and South-east by the West Taupo and Kawhia Counties, as described in “The Counties Act, 1876,” to the Aotea Harbour, and by that harbour; and again towards the South-west by the sea. | George Thomas Wilkinson, Esq., Government Agent.

THAMES.

All that area of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, bounded towards the North, West, North-east, and East by the sea from Pukorokoro to Waihi; thence towards the South-east by a right line to Te Aroha Mountain, and by the Waikato Native Committee District, hereinbefore described; and again towards the West by the said district to Pukorokoro; including Ponui and other adjacent islands. | George Thomas Wilkinson, Esq., Government Agent.

All that area of land partly in the Provincial District of Auckland, partly in the Provincial District of Taranaki, and partly in the Provincial District of Wellington, bounded towards the North-west, North-east, and again towards the North-west by the Waikato Native Committee District, hereinbefore described, to a point in line with a right line drawn from the Uira Gorge to the summit of Maungatautari; thence again towards the North-east by a right line to Maungatautari aforesaid; thence by the Piako County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1882, No. 111; towards the East by the Tauranga County, as described in “The Counties Act, 1876,” to Lake Taupo, by that Lake, and by the Upper Waikato River to its source; and thence by a right line to the summit of Ruapehu Mountain; thence towards the South-west by a right line to the White Cliffs; and towards the West by the sea. | George Thomas Wilkinson, Esq., Government Agent.

ROTORUA.

All that area of land partly in the Provincial District of Auckland and partly in the Provincial District of Wellington, bounded towards the North-west by the Thames Native Committee District, hereinbefore described; towards the North-east by the sea and Te Awa-o-te-Atua River; towards the East by the Tarawera River to the western boundary of the Putauaki No.1 Block; thence by that block, by the southern portion of Putauaki No. 2 Block, by the Matahina Nos. 1 and 2 to Mihia Whakaata; thence by a right line to the 39th parallel of latitude at the northernmost angle of the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay; thence by the said provincial district to Te Iringa; thence towards the South by a right line to the summit of Ruapehu Mountain; and towards the West, South-west, and again towards the North-west and South-west by the Kawhia and Waikato Native Committee Districts, hereinbefore described; including Motiti, Mayor, and adjacent islands. | Herbert William Brabant, Esq., Resident Magistrate.

OPOTIKI.

All that area of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, bounded towards the North and North-west by the sea from the mouth of Te Awa-o-te-Atua River to Lottin Point; thence towards the South-east by a right line to the 39th parallel of latitude where the Waipunga River intersects it; thence towards the South by the said 39th parallel to the Rotorua Native Committee District, hereinbefore described; and towards the West by the said district; including White, Whale, and adjacent islands. | Robert Smelt Bush, Esq., Resident Magistrate.

EAST CAPE.

All that area of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, bounded towards the North-east and East by the sea from Lottin Point to Whareongaonga; thence | James Booth, Esq., Resident Magistrate.
