Ridings’ share of county overdraft, as per Appendix A, at
the Bank of Australasia at Feilding, from the 30th April,
1884, to date of suspension of Counties Act.
Accounts for advertisements outstanding and other current
expenses, if any, relating to matters within the Taonui and
Fitzherbert Ridings, estimated at £11 17s. 5d.
The maintenance of the Awhahuri and Oroua Bridges in
conjunction with the Manawatu County Council.
£75 1s. 1d., being an annual payment for nine years of the
proportion of the nine debentures outstanding of £167 5s. 6d.
each ; and £4 3s. 6d., being an annual payment for ten years
of the proportion of the ten debentures outstanding of
£7 17s. each ; issued by the Oroua County Council in payment
of one-fourth of grants for works within the Taonui and
Fitzherbert Ridings.
£677 4s. 11d., being a share of county overdraft at the
Bank of Australasia, Feilding, due by the Taonui and
Fitzherbert Ridings, as per Appendix A.

HALCOMBE TOWN BOARD.

The said County Council shall, in like manner, transfer to
the Halcombe Town Board the following properties and
assets, viz. :—
£18 10s. 10d., being uncollected rates on properties within
the Halcombe Town District.
Right to collect special rate struck over properties within
the Halcombe Town District to pay proportion of debentures
for one-quarter of grants within the Taonui and Ashurst
Ridings.
£4 8s. 4d., being proportion of Waituna credit balance, as
shown in the riding accounts, as per Appendix A.
And the said Town Board shall, upon such transfer, assume
and take over from the said County Council the following
liabilities and engagements, viz. :—
£3 5s. 8d., being an annual payment for nine years of the
proportion of the nine debentures now outstanding of £167
5s. 6d. each, issued by the Oroua County Council in payment
of one-quarter of grants for works within the Halcombe
Town District.

KIWITEA ROAD BOARD.

The said County Council shall, in like manner, transfer to the
Kiwitea Road Board the following properties and assets, viz. :—
Uncollected rates, amounting to £138 4s. 9d., on properties
within the Kiwitea Riding.
The right to collect all special rates struck on properties
within the Kiwitea Riding to pay the one-quarter of grants
for main roads within that district under “The Roads and
Bridges Construction Act, 1882.”
£13, being contractors’ deposits on contracts outstanding
under “The Roads and Bridges Construction Act, 1882,” as
per Appendix B.
£147, being amount allotted out of grant 123 to McKay’s
and Kimbolton Roads.
Arrears of rates, 1883–84, £55 8s. 6d., due by Wanganui
Harbour Board, if judgment be given against Harbour Board
in action now pending.
And the said Road Board shall, upon such transfer, assume
and take over from the said County Council the following
liabilities and engagements, viz. :—
Amounts due on contracts outstanding for works under
“The Roads and Bridges Construction Act, 1882,” as here-
after: Formation, Mackay’s Line (£342 16s. 2d.), amount
outstanding, £38 13s. 8d.; contractors, Diamond and Wilson.
Formation and metalling, Mackay’s Line (£60 4s.), amount
outstanding, £60 4s.; contractors, F. and W. Bassett.
Maintenance within the Kiwitea Riding, from the 30th
April, 1884, to date of suspension of “The Counties Act,
1879,” of the Kimbolton Road.
Interest accruing on £323 15s. 9d, the share of county over-
draft, as per Appendix A, at the Bank of Australasia at
Feilding, from the 30th April, 1854, to date of suspension of
Counties Act.
Accounts for advertisements outstanding and other current
expenses, if any, relative to matters within the Kiwitea
Riding, estimated at £5 8s.
£42 6s. 4d., being an annual payment for nine years of the
proportion of the nine debentures outstanding of £167 5s. 6d.
each.
£3 13s. 6d., being an annual payment for ten years of the
proportion of ten debentures outstanding of £7 17s. each,
issued by the Oroua County Council in payment of one-quarter
of grants for works within the Kiwitea Riding.
All expenses incurred and liabilities in connection with the
action above referred to as pending with the Wanganui
Harbour Board.
£323 15s. 9d., being share of county overdraft at the Bank
of Australasia at Feilding, due by Kiwitea Riding, as per
Appendix A.

MANCHESTER ROAD BOARD.

The said County Council shall, in like manner, transfer to
the Manchester Road Board, the following properties and
assets, viz. :—

Uncollected rates, amounting to £313 0s. 3d., on properties
within the Ashurst and Waituna Ridings, excluding un-
collected rates on properties within the Halcombe Town
District.
The right to collect the special rate struck over the district
now comprised in the Waituna and Ashurst Ridings (ex-
cluding Halcombe Town District) to pay one-quarter of grants
for main roads under “The Roads and Bridges Construction
Act, 1882.”
£323, being grant No. 122 for Bunnythorpe, Ashurst, and
Pohangina Road. The county’s one-quarter of £108 has been
spent, and the District Engineer’s certificate thereof sent in,
and an application to impress the remainder forwarded.
Balance of £125 7s. 10d. outstanding in imprest account
for Stony Creek Road, Halcombe–Kakariki Road, and
Mackay’s Line, with contractor’s deposits £30; as per
Appendix B.
Balance of £147 4s. 6d., being moneys in hand to meet
payments to contractors for material for the Lower Gorge
Bridge, as per Appendix B; together with right to receive
remainder of Vote 93, item 16, “Immigration and Public
Works Appropriation Act, 1883,” as required for payments as
above.
£41 14s. 5d., being Waituna Riding’s credit balance, as per
riding accounts, after deducting £4 8s. 4d., Halcombe Town
District’s share proportioned to valuation; as per Appen-
dix A.
All properties and rights in the Manawatu Lower Gorge
Ferry, and lease thereof to Thomas Lowes for seven years,
from the 31st March, 1881, at £186 per annum, paid quarterly,
with other conditions attached to such lease, from Oroua
County Council. And all properties and rights in the reserve
connected therewith, being Rural Section 166, Fitzherbert,
containing 86 acres 1 rood, the Manchester Road Board
taking the place of the Oroua County Council as lessor of
the ferry and reserve.
And the said Road Board shall, upon such transfer, assume
and take over from the said County Council the following
liabilities and engagements, viz. :—
Amounts due on contracts outstanding for works within
the Manchester Road District as hereafter: Cutting
and delivering timber for road bridge over Manawatu
River, west of Gorge (£891 8s. 8d.), amount outstanding,
£414 8s. 6d.; contractors, Warne and Beard. Blinding
bridge on Kakariki Road, Rangitawa Creek (£68), amount
outstanding, £68; contractors, Behrendt and Barr. Drain-
ing, Stony Creek Road (£1 13s.), amount outstanding, £1
13s.; contractor, Mark Beazer. Metalling, Pohangina Road
(£200), amount outstanding, £160; contractors, F. and W.
Bassett. Metalling, Ashurst–Bunnythope Road (£200 10s.),
amount outstanding, £70 10s.; contractor, John Jefferies.
Maintenance within the same district, from the 30th April,
1884, to date of suspension of Counties Act, of the Kimbolton,
Palmerston Gorge, and Makino–Mangaone Roads.
Interest accruing on £258 18s. 8d., Ashurst Riding’s share
of county overdraft, as per Appendix A, at the Bank of
Australasia at Feilding, from the 30th April, 1884, till date
of suspension of Counties Act.
Contract with Messrs. Warne and Beard for supply of
timber for Manawatu Gorge Bridge, Lower Ferry.
Liability to maintenance of Onepuki Bridge, in conjunction
with the Rangitikei County Council, and all liabilities of the
Oroua County Council in connection with the Manawatu
Ferry at the Lower Gorge.
£46 12s. 9d., being an annual payment for nine years of the
proportion of the nine debentures outstanding of £167 5s. 6d.
each, in payment of one-quarter of grants for works in the
Waituna and Ashurst Ridings (Halcombe Town District ex-
cluded).
£258 18s. 8d., being share of county overdraft at the Bank
of Australasia at Feilding, due by Ashurst Riding; as per
Appendix A.
