ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of June, 1884.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the burgess roll of the Borough of Akaroa for the year commencing on the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, was prepared and completed after the times required by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," and it is expedient to validate the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said "Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," doth hereby declare that the burgess roll of the said Borough of Akaroa for the year commencing from the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, so made as aforesaid, shall be as valid to all intents and purposes as though the same had been made within the times required by the said Act.

Extending Time for preparing County Rolls, County of Southland.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of June, 1884.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that certain things required to be done by "The Counties Act, 1876," in connection with the making and revision of the county roll of the County of Southland, cannot be done by or within the times required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said "Counties Act, 1876," and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the times for doing the said things in connection with the county roll of the said County of Southland, and doth declare that the time for the doing of such several things shall be those which are specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

  1. Rolls shall be open for inspection: From the 28th June, 1884, to the 26th July, 1884.
  2. Objections to rolls received: Until the 9th August, 1884.
  3. Day appointed for revision of roll: Some day after the 11th August, 1884, but Revision Court shall not sit after the 3rd September, 1884.
  4. Roll shall come into force: On the 15th September, 1884.

THE following special order, made by the Council of the County of Geraldine, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1883."

Proposed by Mr. J. Talbot, and seconded by Mr. J. Paterson, "That, in conformity with the provisions of 'The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1883,' relating to water supply for irrigation, all that portion of the Waitohi Flat, hereinafter described, and situate in the County of Geraldine, be constituted, from and after the 1st day of July, 1884, a district for the purpose of carrying out irrigation works therein, under the name of 'The Waitohi Flat Water-supply District.' Being all that district comprising the following rural sections and reserves.
