Nelson South-West Gold Fields.—Applications for Gold-Mining Leases refused.

Crown Lands Office, Nelson, 5th March, 1884.

IT is hereby notified that the land described in the under-mentioned applications for a gold-mining lease is now open to persons holding miners’ rights, or business licenses, or applicants for a lease, the applicants having failed to comply with the provisions of Regulation 19, Part IV., Appendix A, of “The Mines Act, 1877:”—

Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant leases of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such leases.

Objections to the granting of such leases, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Alexandra on or before the 7th day of April, 1884.

Copy of the applications made and plans annexed may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Alexandra.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANTS: James McCormack and 3 others. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: “Great Western Company.” 16 acres, Obelisk Range, south side of Butcher’s Gully, in the Dunstan Mining District.

Applicants: John T. Baker and 2 others. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: “Orion Gold-Mining Company.” 5 acres, Obelisk Range, in the Dunstan Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this sixth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of “The Mines Act, 1887,” and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Dunedin on or before the 3rd day of April, 1884.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Dunedin.

APPLICANTS: Frederick Hoffman and John Empen. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: “Hoffman and Empen.” 16 acres, head of Deep Stream, in the Hindon Mining District.
