Nelson South-West Gold Fields.—Gold-Mining Lease re-
fused.

Nelson, 8th March, 1884.
NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned appli-
cation for a gold-mining lease has been refused, and
the ground is now open to persons holding miners' rights or
business licenses as if a lease of the said ground had not
been applied for, viz.:
Henry Cosgrove, for the Stowell Quartz Mining Company;
16½ acres, north of and adjoining the Golden Gate Company,
about two miles above Lyell.

Sale of Crown Lands on Deferred Payments in the Wood-
ville and Tahoraitc Districts.

IT is hereby notified that the lands mentioned in the
Schedule hereunder have been set apart for sale on
deferred payments, and that Tuesday, the 15th day of April
next, has been fixed as the day on which such lands shall be
open for application at this office.

In the event of more than one application being received
for any one section the right to occupy the same will be
decided by auction, between the applicants only, at 10 o'clock
in the forenoon of Wednesday, the 16th day of April next,
at this office.
Description.—Block XIV., Tahoraitc Survey District:
These lands are situated about eleven miles from Woodville,
or two miles from the Village of Kumeroa. The Napier-
Wellington Railway will pass within five miles of Block XIV.
The terminus of the railway, when it reaches Tahoraitc, will
be eight miles from Kumeroa. The main roads through the
block have been, or are now being, cleared of bush, and
formed for dray- and horse-traffic. The whole of the block is
lightly timbered, and contains some good agricultural and
pastoral forest country. The soil is of a rich description,
overlying a marl and limestone formation.
Note.—Selectors need not personally reside on the land.

THE LAND ORIGINALLY SET APART FOR THE HALSWELL
TRAMWAY.

Christchurch, 5th March, 1884.
THE above strip of land, which was withdrawn from sale
in 1869, will be sold under the 163rd and 164th clauses
of "The Land Act, 1877," at the expiry of three months
from this date, excepting the portion to be reserved for the
use of the Lincoln Road Board.

THE Land Board of the Marlborough Land District
hereby notifies that at noon, on Tuesday, the 1st April,
1884, at the Survey Office, Blenheim, the under-mentioned
allotments of town, suburban, rural, and pasture land will be
offered for sale by public auction for cash, and licenses of
the runs under mentioned will also be offered by public
auction at the upset prices and rents respectively herein-
