Land taken for a Road in Peninsula Road District, Pro-
vincial District of Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act,
1882,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road
in the Peninsula Road District, Provincial District of Otago:

And whereas the Peninsula Road Board has laid before
the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also
the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section
eleven of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other
power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a
road; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof,
the land so described shall become absolutely vested in
fee-simple in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages,
charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever, for
use as a road.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 1 rood 6 perches, being portion of Section No. 16, com-
mencing at a point on the southern boundary of said section
244 links distant from the south-western angle. Bounded as
follows: North-westerly by a line, 593 links; North-easterly
by a line, 66 links; South-easterly by a line and public road,
372 and 203 links, to commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 1 rood 28 perches, being portion of Sections Nos. 16 and
39, commencing at a point on the public road forming the
south-eastern boundary of said sections. Bounded as fol-
lows: South-easterly by public road and lines, 328, 209, 293,
and 18 links respectively; South-westerly by a line, 66 links;
North-westerly by lines, 7, 307, 480, and 51 links respectively,
to commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 7 perches, being portion of Section No. 43, commencing
at a point on the road forming the north-eastern boundary
of Section No. 43. Bounded as follows: North-easterly by
public road, 197 and 98 links respectively; South-easterly by
a line, 288 links, to commencing point.

Be all the above areas and linkages either more or less;
the several parcels of land being situate in Block I., Otago
Peninsula District, Provincial District of Otago, and are more
particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 11226,
attached to the memorial above referred to.

Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this third day of March, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Taranaki.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of “The Land Act,
1877,” it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclama-
tion in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of
any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of
land as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on
deferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and that he
may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred pay-
ments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by
any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter,
amend, or revoke any such Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Taranaki did, on the
nineteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-three, pass a resolution recommending that the
land described in the Schedule hereto annexed should be set
apart for sale on deferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the aforesaid
recommendation, and to set apart the said land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the
above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on
deferred payments; and that Tuesday, the twenty-second day
of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, shall be
the day on which the said land shall be open for application.

In pursuance of section four of “The Land Act 1877
Amendment Act, 1879,” I do hereby declare that subsection
four of the sixty-third section of “The Land Act, 1877,”
shall not apply to the land described in the Schedule hereto.

And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of “The
Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879,” I do hereby fix the
price at which the land so described shall be sold to be
the price stated in the Schedule hereto.

A PROCLAMATION.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the twentieth section of “The
Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879,” I, William Francis
Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, do hereby set apart the land described in the Schedule
hereto for sale as a village settlement, upon such terms and
conditions as are set forth in an Order in Council bearing even
date herewith, and made under the twenty-first section of the
said Act.
