Land taken for a Further Portion of the Wellington-Napier Railway (Opaki Contract—Further Portion), from about 70 miles 51 chains to 73 miles 47 chains.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the Wellington-Napier Railway, viz., further portion of Opaki Contract:

And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in the manner hereby provided have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by sections one hundred and thirty and two hundred and twenty-nine of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the said further portion of the said line of railway.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 26 acres 1 rood 20 perches, being portion of Section No. 20, Block IX., commencing at a point on southern boundary of Section No. 21. Bounded—North-westerly by Section No. 21, 127 links; generally Easterly by lines and public road, 297, 662, 1002, 131, 471, 276, 390, 361, 121, 193, 346, 131, 524, 25, 271, 489, 200, 25, 315, 208, and 264 links respectively; generally South-easterly by lines, 211 and 499 links respectively; generally Westerly by Ruamahanga River, 5910 links or thereabouts; Northerly by a line, 417 links; and Westerly by lines, 1050 and 222 links respectively, to point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 32 perches, being portion of Section No. 21, Block IX., commencing at a point on the eastern boundary of Section No. 21. Bounded—North-easterly by Section No. 22, 208 links; Easterly by lines, 728 and 776 links respectively; South-westerly by a line, 127 links; and Westerly by lines, 846 and 903 links respectively, to point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 roods 23 perches, being portion of Section No. 22, Block IX., commencing at a point on southern boundary of Section No. 25. Bounded—North-westerly by Section No. 25, 148 links; generally Easterly by lines, 79, 25, 461, and 429 links respectively; South-westerly by Section No. 21, 208 links; and Westerly by a line, 713 links, to point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 20 perches, being portion of Section No. 25, Block IX., commencing at a point on western boundary of main public road. Bounded—Generally Easterly by main public road 283 links, and by a line 1425 links; South-easterly by Section No. 22, 148 links; and generally Westerly by lines, 2, 25, 1608, 25, and 151 links respectively, to point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 38 perches, being portion of Section No. 25, Block IX., commencing at a point on south-eastern boundary of Section No. 26. Bounded—North-westerly by Section No. 26, 253 links; generally Easterly by lines, 22, 100, 900, and 429 links respectively; and generally Westerly by a main public road 653 links, and by lines 617 and 111 links respectively to point of commencement.

Bounded—North-westerly by Section No. 60, 150 links; Easterly by a line, 2460 links; South-westerly by Section No. 27, 134 links; and Westerly by a line, 2253 links, to point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 8 acres 2 roods 8 perches, being portion of Section No. 60, Block IX., commencing at a point on the north-western boundary of said section. Bounded—North-westerly by Section No. 61, 749 links; generally Easterly by lines, 553, 507, 538, 1402, 1013, and 287 links respectively; South-easterly by Section No. 89, 150 links; generally Westerly by lines, 399, 1016, 1402, 300, and 1003 links respectively, to point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 5 acres 3 roods 5 perches, being portion of Section No. 61, Block IX., commencing at a point on the north-western boundary of Section No. 61. Bounded—Generally North-westerly by Government reserve (originally part of Section No. 67), 149 links; generally Easterly by lines, 876, 200, and 641 links respectively; South-easterly by Section No. 60, 749 links; and generally Westerly by lines 1052 and 410 links, and by a main public road 100 links respectively; North-easterly by lines, 313 and 200 links respectively; and Westerly by a line, 766 links, to point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 rood 14 perches, being portion of Government reserve, Block V., commencing at a point on north-eastern boundary of said reserve. Bounded—North-easterly by Section No. 67, 134 links; Easterly by said Government reserve, 241 links; South-easterly by Section No. 61, 149 links; and Westerly by said Government reserve, 441 links, to point of commencement.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 rood 15 perches, being portion of Section No. 67, Block V. Bounded—Northerly by a line, 100 links; Easterly by a line, 385 links; South-westerly by Government reserve, 134 links; Westerly by a line, 297 links, to point of commencement.

Be all the above areas and linkages either more or less, the several parcels of land being situate in the Kopuaranga Survey District, Provincial District of Wellington, and are more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 10749, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in Pukekura Road District, Provincial District of Auckland:

And whereas the Pukekura Road Board has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section eleven of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so described shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever, for use as a road.

ALL that parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 6 perches, situated in the Pukekura Highway District, and being a portion of a road-line 100 links wide traversing
