ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of November, 1884.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was reserved for a site for a plantation: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Ashburton:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section four of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve shall become vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Ashburton, in trust, for a plantation.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, situate in the Borough of Ashburton. Bounded towards the North-east by Dobson Street, 1000 links; towards the North-west by William Street, 1100 links; towards the South-east by the East Town Belt, 1100 links; and towards the South-west by the Terrace, 1000 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; save and excepting thereout South Street, which runs through the above-described parcel of land; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch.

Terms and Conditions of Sale of the Norsewood Village Settlement, Hawke’s Bay Land District.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the twenty-first section of “The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879,” it is enacted that the Governor in Council may fix the terms and conditions upon which the lands comprised in any village settlement shall be disposed of, and the mode of payment for the same: And whereas His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand has, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, set apart the lands enumerated in the Schedules hereto for sale as a village settlement:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the hereinbefore in part recited Act, and by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby fix the following terms and conditions upon which the said village settlement shall be disposed of, and the mode of payment for the same, that is to say,—

The lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be disposed of as village allotments and small-farm allotments for cash.

The day upon which the lands shall be open for application shall be Wednesday, the seventh day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, at the Land Office, Napier.

The lands enumerated in the Schedules hereto shall be sold for cash immediately on purchase.

No person shall be allowed to acquire more than one section, and no person who has previously taken up an allotment in any village settlement shall be allowed to acquire an allotment in the Norsewood Village Settlement.

The prices stated in the Schedules hereto shall be the prices at which the lands shall be open for application.

If there should be more than one application for any allotment in the First Schedule, offered for cash, the right to purchase the same shall be determined by auction amongst the applicants only; and if there should be more than one application for any allotment in the Second Schedule, the right to occupy the same shall be determined by lot amongst the applicants.

The purchaser of any lands described in the First and Second Schedules, upon the full payment of the purchase-money, will be entitled to his Crown grant, to be issued in the usual way upon payment of the fees prescribed by law.
