Schedule hereto, and delineated in the plan marked P.W.D. 11482, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, in the said colony.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 4 perches, being part of Section No. 20, Hutt District (Block VIII., Belmont Survey District), comprising parts of Subdivisions Nos. 6, 7, and 8 of that section, known as Te Momi West; commencing at the junction of the Hutt Main Road with the northernmost boundary of Section No. 20. Bounded—Generally South-easterly by the main road 843 links, and by lines 175 and 172 links respectively; Southerly by a line, 228 links; North-westerly by the railway-line, 111, 6, 500, 6, and 434 links respectively; Northerly by Section No. 24, 341 links, to the commencing point.

Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 rood 33 perches, being part of Section No. 20, Hutt District (Block VIII., Belmont Survey District), comprising parts of Subdivisions Nos. 6, 7, and 8 of that section, known as Te Momi West; commencing at a point on the northernmost boundary of Section No. 20 distant 2584 links from the north-west corner thereof. Bounded—Northerly by Section No. 24, 51 links; South-easterly by the railway-line, 375, 6, 500, 6, and 170 links respectively; Southerly by a line, 59 links; and North-westerly by a line, 1047 links, to the commencing point: be all the above areas and linkages either more or less; the several parcels of land being situate in the Provincial District of Wellington, and are more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 11482, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Fixing Times for Payment of Duty under “The Property-Tax Act, 1884.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of November, 1884.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the second section of “The Property-Tax Act, 1884,” it is, among other things, enacted that the duties therein mentioned shall be paid on such day or days, and either in one sum or by instalments of equal or varying amount, as the Governor in Council may from time to time direct:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby direct that the several duties leviable under the said Act shall be paid on the days and in the manner hereinafter particularly mentioned, that is to say,—

(1.) In respect of the duty of three-eighths of a penny, where the amount of such duty shall be under two hundred and fifty pounds, the same shall be paid on the twenty-second day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four:

And where such duty amounts to two hundred and fifty pounds, or exceeds that sum, the same shall be paid in two equal instalments, the first of such instalments being payable on the said twenty-second day of December, and the second of such instalments on the second day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

(2.) In respect of the duty on fire, marine, or guarantee policies issued by any insurance company, the same shall be paid on the tenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Regulation under “The Property Assessment Act, 1879.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of November, 1884.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance of the power and authority vested in me under “The Property Assessment Act, 1879,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby make the following regulation for the purposes of the said Act, that is to say,—

The public notice directed to be given by section seventy-six of the said Act shall be in the following form:—

“Notice is hereby given that property-tax under ‘The Property-Tax Act, 1884,’ for the year commencing on the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, will be payable as follows:—

“(1.) In respect of the duty of three-eighths of a penny, where the amount of such duty shall be under two hundred and fifty pounds, the same shall be paid on the twenty-second day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four:

“And where such duty amounts to two hundred and fifty pounds, or exceeds that sum, the same shall be paid in two equal instalments, the first of such instalments being payable on the said twenty-second day of December, and the second of such instalments on the second day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

“And notice is hereby further given that the places in each district where the said tax shall be paid shall be any post office within such district which is also a money-order office, except in the district of Wellington, in which district the tax shall be paid at any such post office as aforesaid, and at the office of the Property-Tax Commissioner, at the Government Buildings, Wellington.

Native Licensing District abolished.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of November, 1884.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the seventeenth section of “The Licensing Act, 1881,” it is enacted that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time alter the limits of any Native licensing districts or abolish the same: And whereas it is expedient to abolish the Native Licensing District of Tairua:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance and exercise of all powers enabling him in this behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, doth hereby abolish, from and after the first day of December next, the said Native Licensing District of Tairua.

Vesting a Reserve in the Ashburton County Council.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of November, 1884.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was reserved for a site for a cattle market: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the Ashburton County:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section four of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the Ashburton County, in trust, for a site for a cattle market.

SCHEDULE.
