Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Canterbury.

N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by "The Special Powers and Con-
tracts Act, 1883," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby change
the purpose from hospital site to a site for a drillshed of part
of reserve numbered two hundred and four (in red), in the
Town of Timaru, containing two roods. Bounded-North-
ward by North-street, two hundred links; Eastward by
Rose Street, two hundred and fifty links; and Southward
and Westward by lines parallel to the northern and eastern
boundaries.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Canterbury.

N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by "The Special Powers and Con-
tracts Act, 1883," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby change
the purpose from Provincial Government and other public
purposes to a recreation-ground of all that parcel of land in
the Halswell Survey District, Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement one hundred and eighty-
eight acres three roods eleven perches, more or less, being
section numbered one hundred and sixty-one (in red).
Bounded towards the North by section numbered two
thousand one hundred and forty-seven, four thousand four
hundred and ninety-one decimal seven links; towards the
-Westerly by section numbered twenty thousand nine hundred
and twenty-two, five thousand two hundred and fifty-six
links; towards the South by sections numbered eleven
thousand two hundred and twenty-seven and eleven thousand
one hundred and seventy, four thousand and forty-nine deci-
mal six links; and towards the West by the Dyer's Pass Road;
subject, nevertheless, to a road-line one chain wide branching
from the Dyer's Pass Road, and leading to section numbered
eleven thousand one hundred and seventy: as the same is
delineated on the official map in the District Survey Office,
Christchurch.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.

conferred upon me by "The Special Powers and Con-
tracts Act, 1883," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare
that the following pieces of land shall be respectively a
railway reserve and a recreation-ground.
SCHEDULE.
RAILWAY RESERVE NEAR MAHENO.
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 16 acres 3 roods
and 34 perches, more or less, being part of Section No. 2 of
22, Block VII., Oamaru Survey District, and two road-lines.
Bounded towards the North-east by the Kakanui River;
towards the South-east by the main road; towards the
South-west by Island Stream; towards the North-west by a
right line, 1391 links; again towards the South-west by a
right line, 1883 links; and again towards the North-west by
a right line, 75 links; again towards the North-east by a
right line, 1883 links; and again towards the North-west by
a right line, 1039 links, to the Kakanui River: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on
the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Dunedin.
RECREATION RESERVE NEAR MAHENO.
All that arca containing by admeasurement 47 acres
3 roods and 19 perches, more or less, being part of Section
No. 2 of 22, Block VII., Oamaru Survey District a road-
line and a shingle-bank; and bounded towards the North by
Section No. 20 of said Block VII.; towards the East by the
Kakanui River; generally towards the South-east by the
boundary-lines of a railway reserve, 1039 links, 1883 links,
75 links, 1883 links, and 1391 links, to the Island Stream;
towards the South-west by that stream; and towards the
West by Section No. 1 of 22 of said Block VII.: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on
the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Dunedin.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Southland.

WHEREAS the provisions and the requirements of the
seventh section of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881,""
have been duly complied with in respect of the lands described
in the first column of the Schedule hereto: And whereas
notices in the Gazette have been duly published for four con-
secutive weeks, and laid before both Houses of the Assembly,
as provided by the ninth section of the said Act: And
whereas no resolution of either House of Assembly has been
passed that such House does not concur in the intention
declared in any such notices:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
seventh section of the Act aforesaid, do hereby define the
change of purpose of the land described in the first column
of the Schedule hereto to be that named in the second
column of the said Schedule,
