Provided that, in case any of the days so fixed as aforesaid
shall happen to be a Sunday or a holiday, then the Court
appointed for that day shall be holden on the first day there-
after not being a Sunday or a holiday.

Regulations under “The Salmon and Trout Act, 1867”;
Erection of gratings in water-races, &c.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by “The Salmon and Trout Act, 1867,” His Excellency
the Governor doth hereby make the following regulations for
the Provincial District of Otago:—
- In these regulations “the said Act” means “The
Salmon and Trout Act, 1867.” - Any officer appointed under the said Act may construct
and erect gratings, or other suitable traps or appliances, on
or in any water-race, water-course, or mill-lead where such
race, water-course, or mill-lead, or any of them, are taken
out of, and where they respectively discharge into, any river
or stream within the Provincial District of Otago, in which
young salmon, salmon fry or spawn, or young trout, trout fry
or spawn, have been placed or deposited, so as to prevent the
ingress of any of these fish into such water-races, water-
courses, or mill-leads, as provided by section 2 of the said
Act. - Any one obstructing or preventing the construction of
such gratings, or the maintenance of the same in a state of
efficiency, and any one destroying or damaging the same, or
any of them, shall be liable upon conviction to a penalty not
exceeding fifty pounds, to be recovered in manner provided
by the said Act.

Act, 1882,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
the several persons whose names are specified in the first
column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for
the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified in
the second column of the said Schedule.
