THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Description of Trade Marks.

No. 1 is an oblong with double rustic border intertwined with
vine leaves and grapes, within which in horizontal lines are the
words "Eno's Fruit Salt, Fruit Saline, or Fruit Powder, health-
giving, pleasant, cooling, refreshing, and invigorating." Over
the word "Eno's" are the words "Trade Mark." A device
(consisting of three concentric circles, having on the space
between the first and second circles the words "Truth, Light,"
and within the inner circle the word "and") is superposed on
the centre of the bottom border. On the label over and be-
tween the borders at the top are the words "Prepared by
J. C. Eno's Patent," and between the borders at the bottom are
the words "Hatcham Fruit Salt Works," and under the de-
vice the word "London." Immediately without the label at
the top are the words "Prepared from Sound Ripe Fruit," and
in a similar position at the bottom are the words "You can-
not overstate its value." On either side of this oblong label is
a side flap which contains directions as to when and how to take
the preparation, and also words descriptive of the beneficial
effects produced by the taking of the same---that on the left
being in English, and that on the right being in French.

No. 2 is an oblong label with double-lined border. Within,
at the top, are the words "Eno's Fruit Salt," under which are
the words "Fruit Saline or Fruit Powder," below which are
the words "A household Remedy for preventing and curing
by Natural Means," below which is a circle formed of diver-
gent lines with open centre. On the circle are the words
"Truth, Light," and the centre is occupied by the word "and."
On either side of this device are enumerated the diseases
alleviated by the use of the preparation, under which are com-
mendations concerning the article, and directions as to taking
the same in various cases, followed by the words "Prepared
only by J. C. Eno, Pomeroy Street, New Cross Road, London,
S.E." Over the words "Eno's Fruit Salt" at the top of the
label are the words "Trade Mark."

NOTICE is hereby given that ALFRED DE LISSA, of 313,
George Street, Sydney, in the Colony of New South Wales,
Solicitor, has applied, on behalf of Messrs. DAVID STORER
AND SONS, of Sydney Street, Glasgow, Scotland, in the Kingdom
of Great Britain, Paint, Colour, Varnish, and Oil Manu-
facturers and General Merchants, to register, under "The
Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of which the following
is a description, viz.:-

Description of Trade Mark.

The representation of a bell, upon which are the name and
address "D. Storer and Sons, Glasgow." Under the bell are
the words "Bell Brand."

Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.

Mineral dyestuffs, colours, paints, pigments, varnishes, glues;
chemical substances used for agricultural, horticultural, veteri-
nary, and sanitary purposes; chemical substances used in
medicine and pharmacy, and grease for use in medicine or
medicated grease; gums, resins, oakum, oils (seed, fish, animal,
vegetable, and mineral) for use in manufacture; sponge, dyes
other than mineral; tallow and grease, prepared or unprepared,
for use in manufactures; iron unwrought, partly wrought, and
in process of manufacture; galvanized iron, gold and silver
leaf, sewing machines, machinery of all kinds and parts of the
same, cutlery, knives, forks, scissors, shears, hatchets, adzes,
files, saws, edge tools generally, corkscrews, tweezers, button-
hooks, hooks, and tools not having a cutting edge; nails, tacks,
iron tanks, metal capsules and other metal ware, bronze ware,
glass bottles, bricks, stoneware, cements, carriages, cotton canvas
(not in the piece), waste cotton, flax thread, flax canvas (in the
piece), artists' brushes, cocoa, spices, fruits, dried fruits, vinegar,
edible oils, beer, wines, whisky, rum, porter; illuminating,
heating, and lubricating oils (seed, fish, animal, vegetable, and
mineral); starch, cotton wicks, and grease for lubricating pur-
poses; blacklead, brushes (not being artists' brushes), sacks,
casks, emery, and wooden ware.

George Street, Sydney, in the Colony of New South Wales,

AND Co., of 60, Haymarket, London, England, Boot Manu-
facturers, to register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866,"
the trade mark of which the following are descriptions, viz. :-

Description of Trade Mark.

The representation of a man with a stick in his hand in the
act of walking. In front of the man is a portion of the firm's
name "Wauken," and the word "Trade," and behind is the
other portion of the name "phast," and the word "Mark."
Above the man is the word "Boots," and below are the words
"Five Miles an Hour Easy;" the whole enclosed within a
fanciful frame composed of semicircular lines.

Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.

NOTICE is hereby given that ALFRED DE LISSA, of 313,
George Street, Sydney, in the Colony of New South
Wales, Solicitor, has applied, on behalf of Messrs. CURTIS AND
HARVEY, of 74, Lombard Street, London, England, Gunpowder
Manufacturers, to register, under "The Trades Mark Act, 1866,"
the trade marks of which the following are descriptions, viz. :--

Description of Trade Marks.

No. 1. An oblong, in the centre of which are five divergent
circles overlapping each other. Within the central circle is a
diamond-shaped figure composed of irregular shaded lines; over
the figure is the word "Diamond," and under the figure the
word "grain." The circles on the right and left of the central
circle are filled in with engine-turning. The left-hand portion
of the oblong bears the first name of the firm, below which is
the word "sole." The right hand portion of the oblong bears
the cipher "&" and second name of the firm, under which
is the word "Makers." A diamond-shaped figure enclosing,
on a background of shaded lines, a circle, within which is
the representation of a portion of the trunk of a tree, at
the foot of which is the representation of different kinds of
dead game. Leaning against the trunk is the representation
of a gun, and on the ground is a powder-flask. Over the
circle on the shaded lines is the word "Curtis's," and below
the circle, also on the lines, are the words "and Harvey." On
the left of the circle is the abbreviation "No." A diamond-
shaped figure enclosing, on a background of shaded lines, a
circle. Within the circle on a background are the words
"The Diamond Grain Gunpowder, made only by Curtis's
and Harvey, Hounslow and London." On the left side of the
circle is the abbreviation "No."

No. 2 is an oval label with lace border. Within the label is
an oval tablet filled in with shaded lines, bearing a monogram
composed of the letters "FFF." Over the tablet is the name
of the firm with an apostrophe "s," and below the tablet is the
word "Gunpowder," under which are the words "Hounslow
and London." Over the label is a monogram composed of the
letters and cipher "C&H."

No. 3 consists of the name of the firm, under which is a dia-
mond-shaped figure, the line forming which being broken at
intervals, enclosing the letters "CB;" below is the word "Gun-
powder."

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade
Marks shall apply.
