Districts constituted under “The Marriage Act, 1880.”

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Marriage Act, 1880,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage districts known as the Hamilton, Thames, Tauranga, and Cambridge Districts; and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into five marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follow:—
TE AROHA DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland, bounded towards the North-west by a right line from the confluence of the Piako River with the Waitoa, drawn in the direction of the confluence of the Ohinemuri with the Waihou to the Waihou River; towards the East by the said Waihou River; again towards the North-west by the Patuwhao Block and its southern boundary produced to the Waitawheta River; again towards the East by that river to its intersection by a right line drawn between Te Aroha Mountain and the mouth of the Waihi River; towards the South-east by that line to the Tauranga District confiscation line; again towards the East by the said confiscation line on the summit of Te Aroha Range to the Wairere Stream; again towards the South by the Wairere Stream to the Waihou River; towards the South-east by the said river, and by the Mangawhero and Mangawhara Rivers, by the Mangawhara and Waipa Blocks to the Waikato River; towards the South by the Waikato River; towards the West and South-west by the Hinu-wera No. 2 Block; again towards the South-east by the said block to the southern corner of Maunganui Block; again towards the South-west by the Waikato confiscation boundary-line to a point due west of Te Aroha Mountain; towards the North by a right line drawn due east to the right bank of the Piako River; again towards the West by that river to the Waitoa River, the starting point.
HAMILTON DISTRICT.
All that area bounded towards the North by a right line from Putakauere on the Waikato River drawn in the direction of Te Aroha Mountain to the Te Aroha District before described; towards the East by that district to Pukemoremore; thence generally towards the South by the Parishes of Hautapu, Pukekura, Ngaroto, and Pirongia, to the summit of Te Rehi Range; thence towards the West by the summit of that range and the Tera and Hakarimata Ranges to the northernmost end of the last-named range; thence by a right line to the southernmost part of Lake Whangape; thence by that lake to Section 22 of the Parish of Whangape; thence again towards the North by a right line to the Waikato River at Putakauere, the starting point.
THAMES DISTRICT.
All that area bounded towards the North by the Waikawau Creek to its source; thence by a right line due east to the summit of the dividing range between the East and West Coasts; towards the East by the said summit to a point due west of the south-west corner of Wharekawa East No. 1 Block; thence generally towards the North-west by the Tairua River and by Wharekawa East No. 3 and Wharekawa East No. 2 Blocks to the sea; again towards the East by the sea to the South Head of Whangamata River; towards the South-east by a right line thence drawn in the direction of Te Aroha Mountain to the Te Aroha District before described; thence towards the South by the said district to the Piako River; thence towards the West generally by the Piako River to its mouth, and by the Gulf of Thames to the mouth of the Waikawau Creek, before mentioned.
TAURANGA DISTRICT.
All that area bounded towards the North-east by the sea from the South Head of Whangamata River to the Whakatane River; towards the East by the Whakatane River aforesaid to its source; thence by a right line to the source of the Ohiwa or Waikare River, and by that river to Lake Waikaremoana; towards the South by that lake to its westernmost corner; thence by a right line to Lake Taupo, at the point where the Waikato River leaves it; thence by the lake to the mouth of the Waihora River; thence generally towards the West by a right line to Atiamuri, on the Waikato River; thence by a right line to Te Whetu Native Settlement; thence by a right line to Poutihi; thence by the Tauranga confiscated boundary-line and the Te Aroha District before described to a point in line between the South Head of Whangamata River and Te Aroha Mountain; and thence by a right line to the said South Head.
CAMBRIDGE DISTRICT.
All that area bounded towards the North-west generally by the Hamilton and Te Aroha Districts before described; towards the East generally by the Tauranga District before described to Atiamuri, on the Waikato River; thence towards the South-west generally by the said river to the Little Waipa River; thence by a right line to Mangatautari; thence by a right line to the south end of the line forming the boundary between the Parishes of Puniu and Pukekura; thence by the Parishes of Puniu and Ngaroto to the Hamilton District before described.
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the first day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

Districts constituted under “The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875.”

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing registration districts known as the Hamilton, Thames, Tauranga, and Cambridge Districts; and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into five registration districts, the names whereof shall be the Te Aroha, Hamilton, Thames, Tauranga, and Cambridge Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith made under the provisions of “The Marriage Act, 1880.”
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the first day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

Amalgamating Licensing Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section three of “The Licensing Act Amendment Act, 1882,” I, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Licensing Districts of Waverley, Linden, and Sunnyside shall be amalgamated under the name of the Roslyn Licensing District, as from the fifteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three; and that, as from the said date, the said Licensing Districts of Waverley, Linden, and Sunnyside shall be abolished.
