Manukau. The ratepayers of the said district having failed
to elect, and the whole of "The Counties Act, 1876," not
being in operation in the said county, the above appointment
is made in pursuance of section 37 of "The Road Boards
Act, 1882."

THE Clerk to the Taieri County Council notifies that, the
ratepayers in the under-mentioned road districts having
failed to elect a sufficient number of persons as members of
the Boards of the said districts, the County Council has made
the following appointments under section 37 of "The Road
Boards Act, 1882."

Seaside Road District:
Kuri Bush Subdivision--
John Mee.
David Kirby.
James McNab.

Kaikorai Road District:
Abbotsford Subdivision--
George Blyth.

Arrangements for fresh Elections, &c., County of Manawatu.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint
the under-mentioned persons to be Returning Officers
to conduct elections of councillors for ridings of the County
of Manawatu;-

For the Kawakawa Riding:
FREDERICK COSTALL.

For the Oroua Riding:
GEORGE WILLIAMS.

For the Horowhenua Riding:
HENRY FRANCIS EAGER.

For the Awahou Riding:
WILLIAM GORDON ROBINSON.

Also to appoint Monday, the sixth day of August, 1883,
at noon, at the office of the Manawatu County Council, at
Foxton, to be the time and place for holding the first meet
ing of the Council of the said County of Manawatu.

Special Order made by Waipawa County Council altering
Boundaries of Patangata and Waipawa Road Districts.

THE following special order, made by the Waipawa
County Council, is published in accordance with "The
Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.

Resolved-"That the resolution passed by the Waipawa
County Council on the 3rd of May last, adopting the altera-
tion of the Patangata and Waipawa Road Board Districts as
hereafter set out, be confirmed."

Passed by the County Council of Waipawa on the 7th day
of June, 1883.

That the present boundaries between the Patangata and
Waipawa Road Board Districts be altered as follows, viz.:
Commencing at the south-east corner of Block XLVI.; thence
in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of that
block and Block XLVII. to the north-east corner of said
Block XLVII.; thence in a westerly direction along the
northern boundary of said Block XLVII. to the Te Aute or
Great North Road; thence in a northerly direction along
that road to its intersection with Block XLIX. The above
to be abolished, and the following boundaries substituted in
lieu thereof: Commencing at north-west corner of Block
XIV.; thence in an easterly direction along the northern
boundary of that block to its north-east corner; thence in a
straight line in a south-east direction to the junction of the
Patangata and Tamumu Roads; thence in an easterly direc-
tion along the Waipawa and Tamumu Road to the new Wai-
pawa River; thence up that river to the south-east corner of
Block XLVI: all in the Waipukurau Survey District.

I hereby certify that the special order made by the Waipawa
County Council, altering the boundaries of the Patangata and
Waipawa Road Board Districts, on the 7th day of June, 1883,
was duly made in accordance with section 33 of the Counties
Amendment Act of 1882.

The description of the alterations of the boundaries
between the Patangata and the Waipawa Road Board Dis-
tricts is sufficient to render the new boundaries of the dis-
tricts capable of identification.

tion of Boundaries of Tamumu and Oero Road Districts.

THE following special order made by the Waipawa County
Council is published in accordance with "The Counties
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.

At a meeting of the Waipawa County Council held on the
5th day of July, 1883, the following resolution was passed,
viz.:-

Resolved-" That the alterations of the boundaries of the
Tamumu and Oero Road Board Districts as follows be con-
firmed: That the present portion of the boundary-line
between the Tamumu and Oero Districts, commencing at
the north-east corner of Block XXX., Mangakuri District, at
a point where the said block joins the Mangarara Stream,
and running from thence in a southerly direction to the
Omakare Stream, and from thence in an easterly direction
to the sea, be abolished, and the following boundaries substi-
tuted in lieu thereof, viz.: Commencing at the north-west
corner of Block XXIX., Mangakuri District, where it joins
the Mangarara Stream; thence in an easterly direction along
the northern boundary of said Block XXIX., and Blocks
XXVIII., XXVII., XXVI., XXV., and XXIV., to the north-
east corner of said Block XXIV.; thence in a southerly
direction along the eastern boundary-line of said Block
XXIV. to the south-west corner of Block XXIII.; thence in
an easterly direction along the southern boundary-line of
said Block XXIII. to its south-east corner; thence in a
southerly direction along the eastern boundary of Block
XXXVII. to the north-west corner of Block XXXVIII.;
thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary-
line of Blocks XXXVIII. and XXXIX. to the north-east
corner of Block XXXIX.; thence in a northerly direction
along the western boundary of Block XL. to the north-east
corner of that block; thence in an easterly direction along
the northern boundary-line of block to the sea."

I hereby certify that the above special order, altering the
boundaries of the Tamumu and Oero Road Districts, was
duly made by the Waipawa County Council, in accordance
with section 33 of "The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act,
1882."

The description of the alterations of the boundaries between
the Tamumu and Oero Road Board Districts are sufficiently
clear to render the new boundaries of the districts capable
of identification. I further certify that the boundaries as
advertised can be amended without making any change in
what was evidently intended to be the area comprised in the
descriptions.

ROAD BOARD, adopted by the Board at a meeting held the
30th day of June, 1883.

  1. The ordinary monthly meetings for the despatch of
    business shall be held at the Council Chambers, Carterton,
    on the last Saturday in each month, to commence at
    11 o'clock in the forenoon,
