Extending Time for holding Elections, Manawatu Road
District, County of Oroua.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day
of July, 1883.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the ratepayers of the Manawatu Road Dis-
trict failed, by misadventure, to hold an election of
members of the Road Board for the said district within the
extended time appointed by the Governor under an Order in
Council dated the seventeenth day of May, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three; and it is expedient to
further extend the time within which an election of mem-
bers of the said Board can be held:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by
"The Road Boards, Act, 1882," doth hereby order and declare
that the time for holding the election of members of the said
Manawatu Road District under the last-mentioned Act is
hereby extended, and that such election may take place
before the thirty-first day of August, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the valuation roll prepared by the Property
Tax Commissioner, under "The Rating Act, 1882,"
was not furnished to the Otaki Road Board in sufficient time
to prepare therefrom the ratepayers' roll as required by
section forty-one of "The Road Boards Act, 1882," and the
election of members of the Board for the said road district
has not, consequently, been held during the month of June

last, as required by an Order in Council under the said "Road
Boards Act, 1882," and dated the seventeenth day of May,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three; and it is
expedient to further extend the time for holding the election
in the said road district:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and

appointed.

HIS Excellency the Governor in Council has been
pleased to appoint

GEORGE SCOTT,
THOMAS WYLLIE,
ROBERT CARRUTH,
WILLIAM LAMB, and
JAMES WALLACE

to be the Board of the Papatoitoi Road District, County of
Manukau. The ratepayers of the said district having failed
to elect, and the whole of "The Counties Act, 1876," not
being in operation in the said county, the above appointment
is made in pursuance of section 37 of "The Road Boards
Act, 1882."
