SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land, situate in Wallace County,
Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 1
acre 2 roods 23 perches, being portion of Section No. 28, Block
IV., Aparima Hundred, commencing at a point 2232 links south
and 847 links east of Trig. Q. Bounded as follows: Southerly
by lines, 1118 and 179 links respectively, by public road, 175
and 567 links respectively; Northerly by lines, 916 and 1308
links respectively; South-westerly by public road to com-
mencing point, 210 links: as the same is more particularly
delineated upon the plan attached to the memorial above
referred to.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in
Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities con-
ferred upon me by the twentieth section of "The Land
Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," and "The Public Reserves
Act, 1881," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the land
described in the Schedule hereto for sale as a village settle-
ment, upon such terms and conditions as are set forth in an
Order in Council of even date herewith, and made under the
twenty-first section of "The Land Act 1877 Amendment
Act, 1879."

me by the twenty-third section of "The Land Act 1877
Amendment Act, 1879," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby set apart the lands enumerated in the Schedule
hereto for sale as a village settlement upon deferred
payments.

SCHEDULE.

ELTHAM VILLAGE SETTLEMENT.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Taranaki known as Eltham, bounded towards the North by
Sections 12 and 16, Block X., Ngaire Survey District, and by
Chapman Road; towards the East by Section 44, Block X.,
Ngaire Survey District; towards the South by Section 43,
Block X., Ngaire Survey District, and by Conway Road;
and towards the West by the Waingongoro River.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-

Village Settlement, Canterbury Land District. - Elephant

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of
July, 1883.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the twenty-first section of "The Land Act
Amendment Act, 1879," and "The Public Re-
serves Sale Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor in Coun-
cil may fix terms and conditions upon which the lands com-
prised in any village settlement shall be disposed of, and the
mode of payment for the same : And whereas His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand has, by Procla-
mation in the New Zealand Gazette, set apart the lands enumer-
ated in the Schedules hereto for sale as a village settlement in
small farm allotments:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon him by the hereinbefore recited
Acts, and by and with the advice of the Executive Coun-
cil of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby fix the following
terms and conditions upon which the said village settlement
shall be disposed of, and the mode of payment for the same;
that is to say, -

  1. The lands enumerated in the Schedules hereto shall be
    disposed of as small-farm allotments.

  2. The days on which the lands, enumerated in Schedules
    hereto shall respectively be open for sale and application, at the
    Land Offices at Christchurch and Timaru, shall be fixed by the
    Commissioner of Crown Lands at Christchurch, at such date as
    to insure that the lands shall not be disposed of until after an
    interval of three months from the date hereof.

  3. The sections enumerated in the First Schedule hereto shall
    be sold for cash immediately on purchase at the price named
    therein.

The sections enumerated in the Second Schedule hereto shall
be sold as suburban land on deferred payments at the prices
named therein.

  1. No person shall be allowed to acquire more than one sec-
    tion, either for cash or upon deferred payments.

  2. If there should be more than one application for any
    allotment, the right to the same shall be determined by lot
    amongst the applicants only.

  3. The purchaser of any lands described in the First Schedule
    hereto, upon the full payment of the purchase-money, and the
    purchaser of any lands in the Second Schedule, upon the like
    payment, and also upon the fulfilment of the terms and conditions
    prescribed by the Land Acts relating to suburban lands upon
    deferred payments, will be entitled to his Crown grant, to be
    issued in the usual way upon payment of the fees prescribed
    by law.
