Be all the aforesaid linkages and areas more or less, and the
several parcels of land being situate in the Provincial District
of Marlborough, and more particularly delineated upon the plan
attached to the memorial above referred to.

Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable

Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this eleventh day of July, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken, under "The Public Works Act,
1882," for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in
the Wallace County, Provincial District of Otago:

And whereas the Wallace County Council has laid before
the Governor the memorial and map mentioned in, and signed
and certified as required by, the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section
eleven of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other
power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the
Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road;
and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so
described shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her
