ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth
day of July, 1883.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the twenty-first section of "The Land
Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," it is enacted that
the Governor in Council may fix the terms and conditions
upon which the lands comprised in any village settlement
shall be disposed of, and the mode of payment for the same:
And whereas the Governor has, by Proclamation in the New
Zealand Gazette, set apart the lands enumerated in the
Schedules hereto for sale as a village settlement:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon
him by the hereinbefore in part recited Act, and by and with
the advice of the Executive Council of the Colony of New
Zealand, doth hereby fix the following terms and conditions
upon which the said village settlement shall be disposed of,
and the mode of payment for the same; that is to say, -

1. The lands enumerated in Schedule I. hereto shall be
   open for application for cash at the Land Office at New
   Plymouth on Friday, the twenty-fourth day of August,
   one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, at the prices
   stated therein.

2. The lands enumerated in Schedule II. hereto shall be
   open for application as suburban land on deferred payments
   at the Land Office New Plymouth on Wednesday, the
   twenty-second day of August aforesaid, at the prices stated
   therein.

3. No person shall be allowed to acquire more than one
   section either for cash or on deferred payments.

4. If there should be more than one application for any
   allotment in the Schedules hereto, the right to purchase the
   same shall be determined by lot for any of the small-farm
   allotments exceeding one acre, and by public auction for any
   of the village allotments not exceeding one acre, amongst the
   applicants only.

5. The purchaser of any lands described in Schedule I.
   hereto, upon the full payment of the purchase-money, and
   the purchaser of any lands in Schedule II., upon the like
   payment, and also upon the fulfilment of the terms and
   conditions prescribed by the Land Acts relating to suburban
   lands upon deferred payments, will be entitled to his Crown
   grant, to be issued in the usual way upon payment of the
   fees prescribed by law.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by
"The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1877," His
Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby incorporate the members of the Rodney
Agricultural Society into a corporate body under the said Act
under the style and title of the Rodney Agricultural Society.
