payments; and that Wednesday, the twenty-second day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, shall be the day on which the said land shall be open for application, in allotments as surveyed and marked on the selection map in the principal land office of the district.
In pursuance of section 4 of “The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879,” I do hereby declare that subsection 4 of the sixty-third section of “The Land Act, 1877,” shall not apply to any of the lands described in the Schedule hereto.
And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of “The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879,” I do hereby fix the price at which the land so described shall be sold to be the price set opposite each allotment in the Schedule hereto.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Cambridge-Rotorua Road shall and may be constructed on or through the several parcels of land more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, and delineated in the plan marked P.W.D. 10013, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, in the said colony.

SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point on the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 5 of Maraeroa-Oturoa Block, No. 5478, in the Rotorua Survey District, and proceeding thence in a generally south-easterly direction for a distance of 8 miles 69 chains or thereabouts, and terminating at a point on the Rotorua and Tauranga Road, near the Ngungotaha Creek, passing in, into, through, or over the following lands: Native land and Maniaroa-Puruha Block, No. 5171: the above-described road not to be less than 1 chain wide; as the same is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 10013, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

“Rating Act, 1882.”—Further Extension of Time for Supplying Valuation Rolls to Local Bodies.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of July, 1883.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council bearing date the second day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fifth day of April last, the time for making out and forwarding valuation rolls to the several local bodies within the colony, in the manner directed by section four of “The Rating Act, 1882,” was extended to the thirtieth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three:
And whereas it has been made to appear that the Property-Tax Commissioner has failed to make out and forward a valuation roll to some of the said local bodies within such extended time; and it is expedient that the time for making out and forwarding such rolls should in the cases mentioned be again extended:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the time for making out and forwarding a valuation roll to the clerk of each of the local bodies within the colony, under the provisions of section four of the said Act, shall be and the same is hereby further extended to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three:
And doth further declare that such valuation rolls as shall have been furnished to local bodies by the said Property-Tax Commissioner subsequently to the thirtieth day of April last, and prior to the date hereof, shall be deemed to have been regularly furnished within the extended time hereby granted.

Authorizing Sale of Reserve in Canterbury.

WHEREAS by “The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1882,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may authorize the sale of the lands described in clause thirty-two of the Schedule thereto:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby authorize and direct that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold under the following terms and conditions:—

The said land shall be sold by public auction in one lot, and the upset price shall be three pounds per acre.

Three months’ notice of date and place of sale shall be given by the Commissioner of Crown Lands, the notice to be advertised at least once in each fortnight, as provided by the one hundred and fifty-third section of “The Land Act, 1877.” The sale plan shall be exhibited at the Survey Office, Christchurch, for public inspection.

All the provisions of the Land Acts relating to the sales of land by public auction shall apply to the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto.
