Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case of any reserves made under the authority of section one hundred and forty-four of “The Land Act, 1877,” if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto to the specific purpose set opposite such description in the second column of the said Schedule.

Vaccination Districts constituted.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in the Governor by “The Public Health Act, 1876,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing vaccination district known as the Tokatoka District; and do declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is hereby divided anew into two vaccination districts, the names whereof shall be the Dargaville and Tokatoka Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names as are set forth in a Proclamation, of even date herewith, made under the provisions of “The Marriage Act, 1880.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which, in his opinion, are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Taranaki, Nelson, and Otago described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

AUCKLAND.
ALL that parcel of land, in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 1 rood 24 perches, more or less, situate in the Suburbs of Taupo, in the Tauhara Survey District, and being Allotment No. 18. Bounded towards the North-east by Allotment No. 17, 1120 links; towards the South-east by a street, 500 links; towards the South-west by Huka Street, 1041 links; and towards the North-west by a street, 506 links, to the commencing point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on Plan No. 3293, deposited in the Survey Office at Auckland. For a cemetery.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 50 acres, more or less, being Section I., of Block XVI., Purua Survey District, and known as a cemetery site. Bounded towards the North by Raumanga No. 2 Block and Raumanga No. 1 Block, 2847 links; towards the East by the Whangarei High School Endowment, 1956 links; towards the South by the Whangarei High School Endowment aforesaid, 2266 links; and towards the South-west by a road-line, 2040 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a cemetery.
All that parcel of land, in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 23 perches, more or less, and being Section No. 617, of the Town of Cambridge East. Bounded towards the North by Duke Street West, 97 links; towards the East by Section No. 598, 172 links; towards the South-west by Sections Nos. 610 and 611, 108 links; and towards the West by Section No. 616, 125 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For an addition to a site for a town hall.
All that piece or parcel of land, being called or known as Lot 267, of the Parish of Waimana, Whakatane Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North by Allotments Nos. 268 and 269, 800 links; towards the East by Allotment No. 269 aforesaid, 250 links; towards the South by a road line, 800 links; and towards the West by Allotment No. 268 aforesaid, 250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a cemetery.
TARANAKI.
All that area being Sections Nos. 1006 and 1007 and parts of Sections Nos. 1022 and 1023, of the Town of New Plymouth, containing by admeasurement 3 roods and 3 perches, more or less, and bounded towards the North-west by Lemon Street, 252 links; towards the North-east by Gover Street, 307·5 links; towards South-east by a line at right angles to Gover Street, 252 links; and towards the South-west by Sections Nos. 1021 and 1005, 307·5 links, to Lemon Street: be all the aforesaid linkages, more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office, New Plymouth. For a school site.
NELSON.
All that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 91 acres 2 roods 12 perches, be the same more or less, situated in the Land District of Nelson, being Sections Nos. 103 and 104, Block VII., Kawatiri Survey District, and bounded as follows: On the Northward by railway and road reserve; on the Eastward by a public road; on the Southward by the River Orowaiti; and on the Westward by a public road. For a recreation-ground.
All that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 200 acres, be the same more or less, situated in the Land District of Nelson, being Section No. 35, Block IV., Kawatiri Survey District, and bounded as follows: On the North-eastward, 3589·9 links, by a public road; on the South-eastward, 5571·2 links, by a public road; on the South-westward, 3589·9 links, by Section 16; and on the North-westward, 5571·2 links, by a public road. For a recreation-ground.
OTAGO.
All that parcel of land, in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, situate in the Nevis District, and being Section No. 6, of Block III., of said district. Bounded towards the North-west by Crown lands, 834 links; towards the North-east by Crown lands,
