NOTICE is hereby given that JOSIAH EARL, of the firm of J.
EARL AND SON, of San Francisco, California, one of the
United States of America, Merchants, temporarily residing at
Sydney, in the Colony of New South Wales, has applied to
register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade marks
numbered 1 to 4, of which the following is a description, viz.:—
Description of Trade Marks.
No. 1 is a rectangular oblong, surrounded by a dark and
faint-line border. Within it, at the top, are the words "San
Francisco," and the words "Rubber Paint." Immediately
below these is a device consisting of dark and faint-line circles,
surrounding the words "Manufactured by the" at the top, and
"San Francisco Rubber Paint Co." at the bottom. Within
this an inner circle contains a Maltese cross, on which is repre-
sented a view of a house backed by trees, with three barrels or
kegs in the immediate foreground. The space between the
Maltese cross outline and the inner circle is filled in by the
colour of the lettering. Below the device, in separate lines,
are the words, "Ready for the Brush;" "Pure White and all
Shades and Colours;" "Put up in 4, 4, 1, and 5 gallon cans,"
