described.

Featherston Town.-Bounded towards the North-east by a
portion of the main road from Wellington, by the north-
eastern boundary of the Town Reserve, by the north-eastern
boundaries of Sections Nos. 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, and 86, Town-
ship of Featherston, and across public roads; towards the
East by a public road forming the eastern boundary of Sections
Nos. 99, 112, 119, 126, 127, 269, 271, 273, 275, 277, 279, 281,
283, and 285, said Township of Featherston, and across public
roads; towards the South by the northern boundaries of
Sections Nos. 286, 287, 288, and 289, Township of Featherston
aforesaid, and by the abutment of public roads; towards the
South-west by the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 212,
Township of Featherston aforesaid, by the abutment of a public
road, and by the Otauira Stream; and towards the North-west
by the north-western boundaries of the Town Reserve, and of
Sections Nos. 81, 87, 93, 100, 106, 113, and 120, Township of
Featherston aforesaid, and by part of the north-western boun-
ary of Section No. 99, Township of Featherston aforesaid.

Featherston.-Bounded towards the North-west and South-
west by the Epuni and Mungaroa Licensing Districts; towards
the North and East by the Greytown Licensing District;
towards the South and South-east by Palliser Bay; thence
along the shore of Cook Strait to Port Nicholson Harbour;
and thence along the shore of the said harbour to the place
of commencement: exclusive of the Featherston Town Licensing
District, hereinbefore described.

Karamea. Bounded towards the North-west, North, and
North-east by the Collingwood County; towards the East and
South-east by the Counties of Waimea and Inangahua, and
the Licensing District of Lyell; towards the South and South-
west by the said Inangahua County and the Buller River;
and towards the North-west and West by the ocean.

Christchurch North-West. That portion of the City of
Christchurch bounded towards the North by Rural Sections
Nos. 46, 206, 257, and part of No. 243; towards the East by
the middle of Colombo Street to the middle of Hereford Street;
towards the South by the middle of Hereford Street to the west
side of Antigua Street; and towards the West by the Govern-
ment Domain and the River Avon.

Christchurch North-East. That portion of the City of
Christchurch bounded towards the North by Rural Sections
Nos. 243, 13, 263, 286, and 287; towards the East by Rural
Section No. 33, the River Avon, and Rural Section No. 26 to
the middle of Hereford Street; towards the South by the middle
of Hereford Street; and towards the West by the Christchurch
North Licensing District.

Christchurch South-West. That portion of the City of
Christchurch bounded towards the North by Christchurch
North Licensing District; towards the East by the middle of
Colombo Street; towards the South by Rural Sections Nos. 79,
17, 66, and 72; towards the North-west by the Lower Lincoln
Road; and towards the West by the west side of Antigua
Street.

Christchurch South-East. That portion of the City of
Christchurch not included in the Licensing Districts of Christ-
church North, Christchurch East, and Christchurch West.

Palmerston South. Being all that area known as the Borough
of Palmerston, and situate in the Moeraki Survey District.
Bounded on the North by Block X., Moeraki Survey District;
on the East by said Block X., Moeraki Survey District; on the
South by Block II., Hawksbury Survey District; and towards
the West by Block X., Moeraki Survey District aforesaid.

Otekaika. Bounded towards the North-west by Westland
County; towards the North-east by Geraldine and Waimate
Counties; towards the East by Papakaio Licensing District,
hereinafter described; towards the South by the watershed
of the Awamoko Downs to a point due west of Raki's Table;
thence following road-line through Blocks XI. and X. to west
side of Hospital Reserve, in Kauroo Survey District; again
towards the East by the Kakanui and Otepopo Hundreds and
the Moeraki Licensing District to Waihemo County boundary;
towards the West and South-west by Waihemo County,
Maniototo County, and Vincent County to the place of
commencement.

Kakanui. Bounded towards the North by Otekaika and
Waiareka Licensing Districts, and the Town of Oamaru;
towards the East by the ocean; and towards the South by the
Kakanui River and Moeraki Licensing District; and towards
the West by the said Otekaika Licensing District, hereinbefore
described, to the place of commencement.

Papakaio. Bounded towards the North by the Waimate
County; towards the South-east by the ocean; towards the
South by the Town of Oamaru; towards the West by Oamaru
Stream to the northern boundary of Block XIII., Oamaru
Survey District; thence due west to Block VIII., Awamoko
Survey District; thence due north to the watershed of the
Awamoko Downs; thence along the said watershed to the
road-line at the south-east corner of Section No. 46, Block IV.,

Awamoko Survey District; thence westerly along the centre
of the said road-line to Section No. 22, Block V., same district;
and towards the West by the western boundaries of Block I.
and part of Block IV., Awamoko Survey District, to the
commencement.

Portobello. Bounded towards the South-west and North-
west by the Otago Harbour to the north-westernmost angle of
the Native Reserve; towards the North-east by the said Native
Reserve and the Papanui Inlet, and again by the said Native
Reserve; towards the South-east by the ocean and Hooper's
Inlet, and by Sections Nos. 31 and 30, Block V., Portobello Bay
Survey District; thence across a road and by Sections Nos. 2
of 64, 2 of 36, 1 of 36, 35, 34, 33, 45, 47, 49, and 2 of 51, to
the Portobello Road; thence across and by that road, and by
Sections Nos. 1 of 46, 2 of 46, 53, 52, across a road, and Section
No. 71, all of Block II., Otago Peninsula Survey District, to the
south-east corner of Section No. 73 of the same block; thence
by a right line to the north-east corner of Section No. 70;
thence by the said Section No. 71, and Sections Nos. 63, 65B,
66, 654, said Sections Nos. 66 and 67, all of said Block II., Otago
Peninsula Survey District; thence by said Section No. 67, a
road-line, and by Sections Nos. 10, 9, 2 of 8, 1 of 8, 7, 6, 5, 1 of
3, and 1 of 2, Block I., Otago Peninsula Survey District; and
thence by the boundary-line between Upper Harbour East
Survey District and the Otago Peninsula Survey District to the
northernmost angle of Section No. 1, Block VIII., Anderson's
Bay Survey District; thence by said Section No. 1 to its
westernmost angle; thence by a right line to the easternmost
angle of Section No. 8, Block V., said district, and by said
Section No. 8, and Sections Nos. 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, a closed
road, and by north-western boundary-line of Section No. 12,
Block V., Anderson's Bay Survey District, produced to the
Otago Harbour, the starting point. Also all that other piecee
of land bounded towards the West and North by Otago Har-
bour; towards the South-east by Section No. 11, Block III.,
Anderson's Bay Survey District; towards the South-west by a
road-line bounding Section No. 12 for about 10 chains; thence
towards the South-east by a line bearing about south 30Β° west
until it touches a road leading to Mr. Cutten's house; thence
by that road to the western boundary of the land occupied by
Mr. Williams, in Section No. 72, Block VII., Town District;
and thence by the western boundary-line of the land so occupied
to Otago Harbour.

Peninsula. Bounded generally towards the North-west by
the Otago Harbour and the Portobello Licensing District, herein-
before described; towards the East by Hooper's Inlet and the
ocean; towards the South by the ocean; and towards the West
by the western boundary line of Section No. 78, Block VII.,
Town District, produced to the ocean, and by the Boroughs of
St. Kilda and South Dunedin.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir James
Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Govern-
ment House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section three of "The Licensing
Act Amendment Act, 1882," I, James Prendergast, the
Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Licensing
Districts of Caversham North, Caversham South, and Kensing-
ton shall be amalgamated under the name of the Caversham
Licensing District, as from the first day of February, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-three; and that, as from
the said date, the said Licensing Districts of Caversham North,
Caversham South, and Kensington shall be abolished.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir James
Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Govern-
ment House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day
of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.
