All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement
26 perches, more or less, situate in the Survey District of
Carlyle, Provincial District of Taranaki, being portion of Section
No. 109, commencing at the south-western corner of said Section
No. 109. Bounded—Generally Southerly by the southern
boundary of said section, 120 links ; generally Easterly by public
road, 126 links ; generally North-easterly by a line, 120 links ;
generally Westerly by high-water mark to the starting point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 3 acres 1 rood 17 perches, more or less, situate in the
Survey District of Carlyle, Provincial District of Taranaki,
being portion of a mud-flat between high- and low-water mark.
Bounded—Generally North-easterly and Easterly by high-
water mark 300 links, and by lines 281, 1821, 588, and 730
links ; South-westerly by low-water mark and lines, 400 and
2220 links.

Be each of the aforesaid linkages and areas a little more or
less, and as the same are severally delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 9519, and deposited in the office of the Minister for
Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wel-
lington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir James
Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of Her Majesty’s Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies ; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Govern-
ment House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.

Altering Boundaries of Licensing Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by “The Licensing Act, 1881,” and
“The Licensing Act Amendment Act, 1882,” I, James Prender-
gast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby, from and after the first day of Feb-
ruary next, abolish the Licensing Districts of Mount Wellington,
Tamaki West, Kawakawa, Russell, Hikurangi, Tolago, Puke-
tapu, Clyde, Featherston, Epuni, Carterton, Wareatea North,
Karamea, Christchurch North, Christchurch East, Christchurch
West, Christchurch South, Palmerston, Palmerston West, Ote-
kaika, Papakaio, Kauroo, Kakanui, Peninsula, Portobello ; and
do proclaim and define the several parts of the colony mentioned
and described in the Schedule hereto to be, from and after
the said first day of February next, ordinary licensing districts
for the purposes of the said Acts, and that each such district
shall be known by the name by which it is designated in the
said Schedule.


SCHEDULE.

Mount Wellington.—Bounded towards the North by the
Tamaki West Highway District, from the south-western angle
of Allotment No. 12A to the south-eastern angle of Allot-
ment No. 39, both of the Parish of Waitemata ; towards the
East and South-east by the waters of the Tamaki River ;
towards the South by the middle of the Portage Road, from
the Tamaki River aforesaid to the Great South Road ;
towards the South-west by the Great South Road aforesaid, from
Portage Road, before mentioned, to the Harp of Erin Inn ; and
towards the North-west by a straight line from the Harp of Erin
Inn aforesaid to the western angle of Allotment No. 25 of Section
No. 12 of Suburbs of Auckland, and by the south-eastern
boundary of Lot No. 25A to the south-western angle of Allot-
ment No. 12A to the point of commencement : exclusive of the
Town of Panmure.

Tamaki West.—Bounded towards the West, South-west, and
South by the Remuera and Mount Wellington Ordinary Licen-
sing Districts ; towards the East by the Tamaki River ; and
towards the North by the Waitemata Harbour.

Kawakawa.—Bounded towards the West, North, and East
by the ocean, from the outlet of the Waikare River, in the Bay
of Islands, to the north-western boundary of the Whangarei
County, at Helena Bay ; thence towards the South-east by said
Whangarei County to the western boundary of the Hukerenui
Block ; thence towards the South-west by a line from last-
mentioned point to Trig. Station G1 ; thence towards the
North-west by another line running in a north-easterly direction
to the western boundary of the Kawakawa Block ; thence
towards the West and again towards the North by the said
Kawakawa Block and the Kaipatiki Block to the ocean, near
the outlet of the Waikare River, the place of commencement.

Hikurangi.—Bounded towards the East by the ocean, from
Helena Bay to the northernmost boundary of the Parua High-
way District ; thence towards the South and South-east by the
said Parua Highway District and the Owhiwa Highway District
to Whangarei Harbour ; thence by said harbour to the northern
boundary of the Maungakaramea Highway District ; thence
again towards the South and South-east by the said Maunga-
karamea Highway District to Hobson County boundary ; thence
again towards the South and South-west by the said Hobson
County ; and thence towards the North-west by the Bay of
Islands County to Helena Bay, the place of commencement :
exclusive of the Whangarei Town District.

Whangarei Town.—Bounded towards the North-west by
the north-western boundary of Dr. Perston’s land, from
the place last named to the western boundary of Mr. Hunt’s
land, known as Wycombe ; thence northerly by the said
western boundary to the northern boundary of Mr. Hunt’s
land aforesaid ; thence by part of the northern boundary of
Mr. Hunt’s land aforesaid to the Waiarohia River ; and thence
by the Waiarohia River aforesaid to the centre of the road
which forms the south-western boundary of the subdivision
into allotments of the land known as the Rev. Mr. Gorrie’s
land ; towards the North by the centre of the said road con-
tinued through the subdivision aforesaid to the Bay of Islands
Road, and crossing the Bay of Islands Road aforesaid to the
eastern side of the road known as the Mill Road ; thence
northerly by the eastern side of the Mill Road aforesaid to the
northern side of the road leading to the upper landing-place,
and by the northern side of said road and the northern side of
the landing-place aforesaid produced to the eastern side of the
Whangarei River ; towards the East by high-water mark on the
eastern bank of the Whangarei River aforesaid, from the place
last named to a point on the same at a distance of 10 chains to
the eastward of the south-western angle of Allotment No. 1 of
the Parish of Parahaki ; thence by a right line crossing the
Whangarei River aforesaid to the river termination of the
eastern boundary of Dr. Perston’s land aforesaid, and by said
eastern boundary to the southern boundary of Dr. Perston’s
land, before mentioned ; and towards the South and South-west
by the southern and south-western boundaries of Dr. Perston’s
land to its westernmost angle, the place of commencement.

Patutahi.—Bounded towards the North-east by the Tolago
Special Licensing District and the Gisborne Ordinary Licensing
District to the sea ; thence towards the East by the sea ; thence
towards the South-west by the Wairoa County to Maungapo-
atu ; and thence towards the North-west by the Whakatane
County to the place of commencement.

Clyde.—Bounded towards the North-east by the Waikare-
moana Ordinary Licensing District ; towards the South-east
by the ocean to the northern boundary of the Hawke’s
Bay County ; towards the South-west by the said Hawke’s
Bay County to the Rangitaiki River ; and towards the North-
west by the East Taupo County and the Whakatane County
respectively to the place of commencement.

Puketapu.—Bounded towards the North-east by the Clyde
Licensing District, hereinbefore described ; towards the East by
the ocean to the Meaneo Licensing District ; towards the
West, North, and East by the said Meaneo Licensing District
and the Heretaunga Licensing District ; towards the South
and South-west by the said Heretaunga Licensing District
and the Matapiro Native Block, and by a right line from
its north-western corner to Trig. Station 65A ; and towards the
West by East Taupo County to the place of commencement.

Epuni.—Bounded towards the North, North-east, and again
towards the North by the Mungaroa Licensing District ;
towards the East and South-east by the Wairarapa West
County ; towards the South-west, North-west, and South
by the shore of Cook Strait and of Port Nicholson Harbour ;
and again towards the North-west by the Porirua Licensing
District, to the place of commencement.

Carterton Town.—Bounded towards the North-east by a
road, being the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 207,
Tiffin Survey District, and Sections Nos. 1, 30, 31, 32, and
33, Township of Carterton ; thence towards the South-east
by a road, being the south-eastern boundary of Sections
Nos. 33, 45, 57, 69, 81, 93, and 106, said Township of Car-
terton ; thence towards the South-west by a road, being the
south-western boundary of Sections Nos. 106, 105, 104, 103,
102, and 29, Township of Carterton aforesaid, and of Section
No. 214, said Tiffin Survey District ; and thence towards the
North-west by Sections Nos. 241, 184, 182, 181, 179, 177, 176,
and 175, Tiffin Survey District aforesaid, to the place of com-
meucement.

Carterton.—Bounded towards the North and North-east by
the Masterton Licensing District ; thence towards the South-
east by the Wairarapa East County ; thence towards the South-
west by the centre of the Waiohine River to a point due east
of Mount Hector ; thence due West to the summit of Mount
Hector ; and thence towards the North-west by the Hutt
