Districts constituted under “The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875.”

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875,” I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing registration districts known as the Greytown, Masterton, and Castlepoint Districts; and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised with the said districts is hereby divided anew into four registration districts, the names whereof shall be the Greytown, Carterton, Masterton, and Castlepoint Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith, made under the provisions of “The Marriage Act, 1880.”

Land taken for a further Portion of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway (Horseley Downs Contract).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation issued under the authority of sections one hundred and twenty-two, one hundred and twenty-three, and one hundred and twenty-four of “The Public Works Act, 1876,” the middle line of a further portion of the line of railway from Hurunui to Waitaki (Waikari-Hurunui Section), being one of the railways specified in “The Public Works Act, 1879,” was defined: And whereas pursuant to the one hundred and twenty-fifth section of “The Public Works Act, 1876,” the Minister for Public Works has caused to be made and, on the eleventh day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, to be deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Christchurch, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, such maps and plans as were necessary to explain the said further portion of the said line of railway and the land through which the same passes, and such maps and plans were referred to in such Proclamation as aforesaid: And whereas “The Public Works Act, 1879,” enacts that such of the railways mentioned therein as are unfinished may be completed under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1876,” “The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878,” and “The Public Works Act, 1879:” And whereas the two hundred and twenty-ninth section of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” enacts as follows: Any public work authorized under the authority of any Act repealed by this Act, or of any Act or Ordinance repealed by “The Public Works Act, 1876,” and any land required to be taken, purchased, or acquired for such work, or anything commenced under any such authority as aforesaid, may be continued, taken, purchased, or acquired, executed, carried out, enforced, and completed under the provisions of this Act: And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for the said further portion of the said line of railway from Hurunui to Waitaki:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by sections one hundred and thirty and two hundred and twenty-nine of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the said further portion of the said line of railway.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 56 acres and 36 perches, being portion of Section No. 7540, commencing at a point on the northern boundary of said section 5840 links distant from the south-east corner of Section No. 7082. Bounded as follows: South-easterly by a line, 14452 links; North-easterly by a line, 150 links; South-easterly by a line, 1500 links; South-westerly by a line, 150 links; South-easterly by a right line 2594 links, by a curved line 898 links, by a right line 629 links; Easterly by a curved line, 1489 links; North-easterly by a right line 3056 links, by a curved line 409 links, by a right line 9580, 2347, and 6416 links respectively; South-easterly by Township of Waikari, 106 links; South-westerly by a right line 6451 links, by a curved line 2407 links, by a right line 8149 links; South-easterly by a line, 127 links; South-westerly by a road, 5571 and 1346 links respectively; Northerly by a line, 238 links; North-westerly by a right line 237 links, by a curved line 913 links, by a right line 2593 links; South-westerly by a right line, 1363 links; South-westerly by a right line, 3881 links, to a road running through Section No. 7540 aforesaid; thence by said road, 111 links; North-easterly by a right line, 3946 links; North-westerly by a right line, 36 links; North-easterly by a right line, 150 links; North-westerly by a right line, 14419 links; Northerly by the northern boundary of said section to commencing point, 105 links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods 9 perches, being portion of Section No. 7082, commencing at a point on the northern boundary of said section 5840 links distant from the south-east corner of said section. Bounded by right lines as follows: South-easterly, 1525 links; South-westerly, 50 links; South-easterly, 1008 links; North-easterly by the northern boundary of said section, 200 links; North-westerly, 1004 links; South-westerly, 50 links; North-westerly, 1558 links; Southerly by southern boundary of said section to commencing point, 105 links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 4 acres 1 rood 12 perches, being portion of Section No. 18081, commencing at a point on the northern boundary of said section 1951 links distant from the north-east corner thereof.
