55 links; towards the South by Allotment No. 32, 50 links;
and towards the West by Allotment No. 4, 55Β½ links, to the
commencing point.

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 roods
5 perches, situated in the Borough of Thames, being portions
of Allotments Nos. 29, 28, 27, 26, 25, 24, 16, 17, 18, and 19,
and Allotments Nos. 21, 22, and 23. Bounded towards the
North-east by Mackay Street, 464.4 links; towards the South-
east by Allotment No. 20, 119-7 links; towards the South-west
other portions of Allotments Nos. 19, 18, 17, and 16, 16-7
links and 1942 links respectively; towards the West generally
by Allotment No. 15, by other portions of Lots Nos. 24, 25, 26,
and 27, and by Allotment No. 10, 80 links, 17.5 links, 1323

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2.2
perches, situated in the Borough of Thames, being portion of
Allotment No. 19 of Section No. 28 of the Town of Short-
land. Bounded towards the North-east by Allotment No. 20,
60.8 links; towards the South generally by Fenton Street and
a line, 17.4 links and 33-3 links respectively; and towards the
North-west by other portions of Allotment No. 19, 534 links,
to the commencing point.

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 rood
8 perches, situated in the Borough of Thames, being Allotments
Nos. 33, 34, and 35 of Section No. 28 of the Town of Shortland.
Bounded towards the North-east by Mackay Street, 200 links;
towards the South-east by Allotment No. 32, 150 links; towards
the South-west by Allotment No. 36, 200 links; and towards
the North-west by Grey Street, 150 links, to the commencing
point.

All those parcels of land containing by admeasurement 2 roods
123 perches and 2.2 perches respectively, more or less, situated
in the Thames Survey District, and being a portion of the
Thames Foreshore lying to the south of Fenton Street :-

Portion containing 2 roods 12-3 perches: Bounded towards
the North-east by the Thames and Waikato Railway-line, 228
links; towards the East and South by the Hape Creek; and
towards the West by the Kauaeranga Creek to the commencing
point.

Portion containing 2-2 perches: Bounded towards the
North-west by Fenton Street, 42 links; towards the East by
the Hape Creek; and towards the South-west by the Thames
and Waikato Railway-line, 80 links, to the commencing point.

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 13
perches, situated in the Borough of Thames, being Allotment
No. 20 of Section No. 28 of the Town of Shortland. Bounded
towards the North-east by Mackay Street, 69-7 links; towards
the South-east by Fenton Street, 119-7 links; towards the South-
west by Allotment No. 19, 69-7 links; and towards the North-
west by Allotment No. 21, 119-7 links, to the commencing point.

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement perch,
situated in the Borough of Thames, being the north-eastern
portion of Allotment No. 15 of Section No. 28 of the Town of
Shortland. Bounded towards the North-east by Allotment
No. 24, 17-5 links; towards the South-east by Allotment No. 16,
28 links; and towards the West by other portion of Allotment
No. 15, 33-2 links, to the commencing point.

Be all the above areas and linkages either more or less; and
the several parcels of land being situated in the Thames Survey
District, Provincial District of Auckland, Colony of New
Zealand, and are more particularly delineated upon the plan
attached to the memorial above referred to.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in
Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Auckland,
this nineteenth day of May, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken, under "The Public Works Act,
1882," for a certain work, to wit, the construction of roads in
the Ngaire Road District, Provincial District of Taranaki:

And whereas the Ngaire Road Board has laid before
the Governor the memorial and map mentioned in and signed
and certified as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section
eleven of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other
power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the
Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of roads;
and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so
described shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in the
inhabitants of the Ngaire Road District, discharged from all
mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind
soever, for use as roads.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement
3 acres 3 roods 35 perches, being portion of Section No. 46,
Block II., commencing at a point on the northern boundary of
Bird Road 156 links in an easterly direction from the south-
western corner of said section. Bounded as follows: Generally
North-westerly by lines, 232, 293, 146, 124, 79, 104, 192, and
304 links respectively; Easterly by Section No. 47, 818 links;
Southerly by the northern boundary of Bird Road aforesaid to
commencing point, 1005 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 7 acres 3 roods 16 perches, being portion of Section
No. 47, Block II., commencing at the south-westernmost corner
of said section. Bounded as follows: Westerly by Section No.
46, 818 links; generally North-easterly by lines, 155, 224, 142,
47, 144, 202, 391, and 154 links respectively; South-easterly
and Southerly by the northern boundary of Bird Road, 611,
467, and 305 links respectively, to commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 1 acre 1 rood 9 perches, being portion of Section No. 61,
Block VI., commencing at the south-easternmost corner of
said section. Bounded as follows: Southerly by the northern
boundary of Finnerty Road, 588 links; North-westerly by a
line, 543 links; North-easterly by a line, 325 links; Easterly
by Section No. 62, 325 links, to commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 1 acre 2 roods 27 perches, being portion of Section No. 62,
Block VI., commencing at the south-westernmost corner of said
section. Bounded as follows: Westerly by Section No. 61, 825
links; North-easterly by lines, 451 and 380 links respectively;
Southerly by the northern boundary of Finnerty Road, 720
links, to commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 2 roods 3 perches, being portion of Section No. 72, Block
VI., commencing at the south-easternmost corner of said
section. Bounded as follows: North-easterly by Mountain
Road, 54 and 337 links respectively; North-westerly by a' line,
371 links; Southerly by the northern boundary of Cornwall
Road, 283 links, to commencing point.

Be all the above areas and linkages either more or less, and
the several parcels of land being situate in the Ngaire Survey
District, Provincial District of Taranaki, and are more particu-
larly delineated upon the map attached to the memorial above
referred to.
