Mining Notices.

NOTICE TO CONSTRUCT WATER-RACE.

To the Mining Registrar at Hokitika, and all other persons
whom it may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-race
and divert water for mining purposes, commencing at a
point on the south side of Doughtown Hill, about two miles
south of Humphrey's Gully, on the south side of the hill
between Humphrey's Gully and the Kanieri River, and about
a mile and a half north of that river.
The length of such race is one mile sixty-five chains or
thereabouts.
The depth of such race is to be 3 feet, and the breadth
4 feet, and it is proposed to divert fourteen heads of water.
Dated at Hokitika, this 27th day of April, 1883.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.

Totara, 30th April, 1883.
To the Mining Registrar at Ross, in the Totara Mining District,
and to all other persons whom it may concern.
I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a Water-
race to divert and use water for mining purposes, com-
mencing at Creek No. 1, tributary of south side of Hokitika
River, three miles below the first gorge, 400 feet vertically
along the race already applied by me, taking five heads of water
therefrom; crossing Creek No. 2, taking five heads of water
from it; crossing Creek No. 3, taking five heads of water from
it; crossing Creek No. 4, taking four heads; thence to No. 5
taking three heads of water from it; crossing Creek No. 7,
taking two heads of water from it; also crossing No. 8 Creek,
taking three heads of water; crossing No. 9 Creek, a tributary
of the Totara River, on the north side, one and a half miles from
the junction, taking three heads of water, and forming a by-
wash at every 10 chains along the line of the race; then
crossing, with syphon, the Totara River at the first gorge; then
through the Town of Ross, along the right-hand branch of
Jones's Creek; through the Greenland Company Claim; ter-
minating at Robinson's Creek, 100 feet vertically below the
Mikonui Government Water-race.
The length of such a race is ten miles or thereabouts; its
intended course is east and west. Time estimated for construc-
tion and completion is three years.
The mean depth of such race is 4 feet, and the mean breadth
is 6 feet; and it is proposed to divert thirty-two Government-
heads of water.

meeting of the Carrick Range Antimony Mining Company
(Limited), held at the registered office, Dunedin, on the 13th
March, 1883, a resolution was passed that the said Company be
wound up voluntarily under the provisions of "The Companies
Act, 1882;" and that, at an extraordinary general meeting of
the said Company, held on the 6th April, 1883, at the regis-
tered office, Dunedin, the said resolution was confirmed.
