advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
do hereby order and declare that the regulations prescribed by
the Governor in Council on the twenty-fourth day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-four, in respect of interest
on floating balances to credit of estates held in the Public
Trust Office, shall be and the same are hereby amended in part
as follows:-
In lieu of provision (3) of regulation number "4" providing—
"That interest shall only be added to the balance at
credit of an estate so as to form part of the principal
on the thirtieth day of June in each year, the fol-
lowing provision shall take effect, viz. :-
"(3.) Interest shall only be added to the balance at credit
of an estate (so as to form part of the principal fund
thereof) on the thirty-first day of December in each
and every year."
And such amended regulation shall form and be read as part of
the regulations so prescribed as aforesaid.

Vesting a Reserve in the Long Beach Road Board.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of
January, 1883.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT
IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was
exchanged, by Order in Council dated the eleventh day
of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, for
part of Reserve number one thousand four hundred and twenty-
nine (in red): And whereas, in the opinion of the Adminis-
trator of the Government, it is expedient to vest the said land
in the Road Board of the Long Beach District:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by
the fourth section of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth
hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof,
the said reserve shall become vested in the Road Board of the
Long Beach District, in trust for a gravel-pit.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Hinds Survey District, Provincial
District of Canterbury, containing 13 acres and 36 perches,
more or less, being part of Section No. 8402. Bounded—
Northward by Reserve No. 1429 (in red); Eastward by the
Longbeach Road, 964 links; Southward by a road-line; and
Westward by Section No. 6812.

section four of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby
declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said
reserve shall become vested in the Calcium Mechanics' Institute
(Incorporated), in trust for a site for a public hall.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Southland Subdivision of the
Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement
2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 15, Block I., Calcium.
Bounded towards the North-east by Union Street, 150 links;
towards the South-east by Sections Nos. 16 and 17 of said
block, 333 links; towards the South-west by Section No. 2 of
said block, 150 links; and towards the North-west by Section
No. 14 of said block, 333 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less; as the same is delineated on the map in the
Survey Office, Invercargill.

Canterbury, and Otago.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section of
"The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the Governor
may from time to time, either by general or particular descrip-
tion, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve
from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which, in his
opinion, are required for any of the purposes in the said section
mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of
the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in
the Land Districts of Auckland, West Coast (North Island),
Wellington, Nelson, Canterbury, and Otago, described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said
Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.
ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland, containing by admeasurement 174 acres 1 rood,
more or less, situated in the Parish of Waioeka, and being Lots
Nos. 82, 83, 84, and 85. Bounded towards the North-east by a
road 100 links wide, 4628 links; the South-east by a road of
width aforesaid, 2520 links; the South-west by a road of
width aforesaid, 5695 links and 433 links; the West by Lot
No. 81, 1370 links; the North by Lot No. 80, 3500 links;
and again towards the West by Lot 80 aforesaid and a road of
width aforesaid, 2840 links, 170 links, and 640 links: be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a recreation-ground.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods, more
or less, situated in the Hamilton Survey District, and being
Allotment No. 4A of the Parish of Pukekura. Bounded
towards the North and North-east by Allotment No. 4, 480 links
and 1300 links; towards the South-east by a stream; and
towards the South-west and South by a road-line, 561 links, 300
links, 263 links, and 380 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. For a gravel reserve.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood, more
or less, situated in the Maioro Survey District, and being
Allotment No. 46 of the Settlement of Karioitahi, Section No. 1,
Parish of Waipipi. Bounded towards the North-east by
Allotment No. 34, 700 links; towards the South-east by
Allotment No. 8, 534 links; towards the South-west and West
by a road-line, 482 links and 98 links; and towards the North-
west by a road-line, 509 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. For a site for a school.
All those pieces or parcels of land in the Provincial District
of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 26 acres, more or
less, situated in the Hamilton Survey District, and being
Allotments Nos. 228 and 229 of the Parish of Pukekura.
Allotment No. 228, containing 21 acres 2 roods; bounded
towards the North by the Waikato River; towards the East and
South-east by a road-line, 1105 links and 382 links; towards
the South by a road-line, 131 links, 226 links, and 1140 links;
and towards the West by Allotment No. 11, 1480 links. Allot-
ment No. 229, containing 4 acres 2 roods; bounded towards
the North by the Waikato River; towards the South-east by a
road-line, 594 links and 810 links; and towards the West by a
road-line, 980 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
For a cemetery.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland, containing by admeasurement 228 acres, more or
less, situated in the Parish of Karioi, in the Karioi Survey
District, and being Allotment No. 15. Bounded towards the
North-east by a line 3200 links, and by a creek; towards the
South-east by a road-line, 337 links, 407 links, 617 links, 905
links, 1262 links, 536 links, 797 links, and 789 links respectively;
towards the South-west by Allotment No. 14, 3350 links; and
towards the North-west by high-water mark of the sea: be all
