Boundaries of the Borough of the City of Auckland
extended.

of Oroua Stream aforesaid. Bounded-Easterly by
said stream, 400 links; North-easterly by a line,
1117 links; North-westerly by a line, 1171 links;
Southerly by public road to commencing point, 1460
links.

All that piece of land containing by admeasure-
ment 24 acres 1 rood 37 perches, being part of the
Lower Horangi Block, Manawatu District, com-
mencing at the junction of the Oroua River with the
north boundary of the public road intersecting the
said block. Bounded-Westerly by the Oroua River,
79 links; generally Northerly and Westerly by
lines, 155, 1398, 50, 1994, 1163, 2497, 1283, 2665, 136,
938, 886, 1895, 620, and 6337 links respectively;
Easterly, 126 links, by Section No. 1, Karere
Block; generally Southerly and Easterly by lines,
4142, 34, 2167, 581, 1888, 910, 958, 154, 1502, 32,
1199, 1283, 2533, 1228, 2005, 1381, and 140 links
respectively to the point of commencement.

All that piece of land containing by admeasure-
ment 6 acres 2 roods 21 perches, being part of the
Lower Horangi Block, Manawatu District, commen-
cing at the junction of the Oroua River with the
south boundary of the public road intersecting the
said block. Bounded-Generally Northerly by the
said public road, by lines 105, 1360, 2014, 1281, 2562,
1283, and 1159 links respectively; North-east by a
public road, 96 links; generally Southerly by lines,
1225, 1282, 2583, 1321, 2021, 50, 1340, and 105
links respectively; Westerly by the Oroua River,
30 links, to the point of commencement.

All that piece of land containining by admeasure-
ment 7 acres 3 roods 15 perches, being part of the
Lower Horangi Block, Manawatu District, commen-
cing at the junction of the southern boundary of the
road-line with the eastern boundary of the public road
bearing 113° 59′. Bounded-Generally Northerly
and Westerly by lines, 1428, 171, 979, 934, 1882,
542, and 2010 links respectively; towards the East
by another part of the said public road bearing 23°
39', 170 links; generally Southerly and Easterly by
lines, 1854, 503, 1875, 959, 1000, 188, and 1355 links
respectively; South-westerly, 128 links, by the public
road aforesaid to the point of commencement.

All that piece of land containing by admeasure-
ment 3 acres 1 rood 7 perches, being part of the
Lower Horangi Block, Manawatu District, com-
mencing at an angle of the public road forned by
lines bearing respectively 23° 39′ and 59° 35'.
Bounded-Generally North-westerly by the south
boundary of the said public road, 4078 links; East
by Section No. 89, Karere Block, 84 links; South-
east by a line, 4164 links; West by the said public
road, 136 links, to the point of commencement.

Be all the aforesaid linkages either more or less;
the several parcels of land being situate in the
Manawatu County, Provincial District of Wellington,
and are more particularly delineated upon the plan
marked P.W.D. 9417, deposited in the office of the
Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the
Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice,
the Administrator of the Government of
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fifth day of January, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-three.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," it
is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may
at any time, upon the petition of the Mayor and Council of a
borough, by a Proclamation publicly notified, alter the boun-
daries of such borough so as to include therein any part of the
foreshore: And whereas a petition has been presented to me
by the Mayor and Councillors of the Borough of the City of
Auckland, praying me, amongst other things, to alter the boun-
daries of the said borough so as to include therein the piece of
land described in the First Schedule hereto, being part of the
foreshore of the Waitemata Harbour:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of
the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the said
borough are hereby altered so as to include within the limits of
the said borough the land described in the First Schedule
hereto, the said land being added to the East Ward of the said
borough; and that the said borough shall henceforth be bounded
as specified in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods,
more or less; and bounded towards the North by Waitemata
Harbour, 1354 links; and towards the East, South, and West
by the boundary-lines of the Borough of Auckland, 76 links,
1350 links, and 76 links respectively: be all the aforesaid link-
ages more or less.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland, com-
mencing in the middle of Franklin Street, at the original high-
water mark of Freeman's Bay; thence bounded towards the
West by lines, 50 links and 300 links; towards the North by
lines, 1225 links, 700 links, 270 links, 4300 links, 550 links, 90
links, 225 links, 599 links, 1354 links, 149 links, 300 links, 400
links, 250 links, 200 links, 1950 links, and 1800 links; towards
the East by a line, 1500 500 links, to the Strand; thence to and by
Strand, 50 links; thence to and by Suburban Section No. 96;
thence by a line to and by the east side of Stanley Street to the
Government Domain, by the Government Domain and the
Hospital Reserve to the road known as Park Road; thence by
the northern side of said road to a point in line with the eastern
boundary-line of Allotment No. 22 of Section No. 3 of the
Suburbs of Auckland; thence by a right line to and by said
boundary-line and by its production to the south side of Carlton
Gore Road; thence by that side of said road to the western
boundary-line of Subdivisional Lot No. 37 of original Allot-
ment No. 4 of Section No. 3 of the Suburbs of Auckland;
thence by Lot No. 37 aforesaid, and by Lots Nos. 55, 56, 65, 66,
75, 76, 85, 86, 95, 96, 105, 106, 115, 116, and 13, all of original
Allotment No. 4 of said Section No. 3 of the Suburbs of Auck-
land, and by the western boundary-line of Lot No. 13, before
mentioned, produced to the southern side of Kyber Pass Road;
thence by said road to the eastern side of the road leading to
the Mount Eden Stockade; generally towards the South-east
by the said side of said road to its junction with the Mount
Eden Road; thence by the southern side of that road to
Symonds Street; thence by a line to and by Basque Road and
by Sections Nos. 4 and 13 to the Great North Road; towards
the West by the said road to Ponsonby Road; thence towards
the South by a line to and by Sections Nos. 36, 35, 34, 40, 41,
and 43 to the left bank of Cox's Creek, and by the left bank of
that creek to Waitemata Harbour; again towards the West,
towards the North-west, and towards the North-east by high-
water mark of Waitemata Harbour to the point of commerce-
ment: as the same is delineated on the plans in the Survey
Office, Auckland.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir James
Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Govern-
ment House, at Wellington, this tenth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.
