Land taken for Portions of Foxton-New Plymouth
Railway, between 1 mile 25 chains and 16 miles.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS a portion of a certain railway was
proclaimed in the New Zealand Gazette of
the sixth day of May, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-five, under the name of the Foxton to
Manawatu Railway (Foxton to Palmerston), and
the said railway now forms part of the Foxton to
New Plymouth Railway:
And whereas the two hundred and twenty-ninth
section of "The Public Works Act, 1882," enacts that
any public work authorized under the authority of
any Act repealed by this Act, or of any Act or Ordi-
nance repealed by "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
and any land required to be taken, purchased, or
acquired for such work, or anything commenced
under any such authority as aforesaid, may be con-
tinued, taken, purchased, or acquired, executed,
carried out, enforced, and completed under the pro-
visions of this Act:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required for portions of the said Foxton
to New Plymouth Railway:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
by virtue and in pursuance of the power conferred
upon him by the one hundred and thirtieth and
two hundred and twenty-ninth sections of "The
Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling him in that behalf,
doth hereby proclaim and declare that the said land
so described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the
said portions of the said railway from Foxton to
New Plymouth.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 1 acre, being part of Public Reserve
No. 477, Block I., in the Mount Robinson Survey
District, commencing at a point on the western
boundary of public road, Foxton to Palmerston,
6913 links distant from the south-east corner of
said reserve. Bounded-South-westerly by a line,
200 links; North-westerly by a line, 500 links;
North-easterly by a line, 200 links; South-easterly
by public road to commencing point, 500 links.
All that piece or parcel of land containing
by admeasurement 141 acres 3 roods 8 perches,
being a railway reserve in the Te Kawau Survey
District. Bounded---North-westerly by the public
road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section
No. 323, 5315 links; North-easterly by a public road
forming the south-western boundary of Section No.
315, 5335 links; South-easterly by public road,
Foxton to Palmerston, to commencing point, 7531
links.
All that piece of land containing by admeasure-
ment 2 roods, being part of Section No. 334, in the
Township of Carnarvon, Manawatu District, com-
mencing at the north-west corner of said Section
No. 334. Bounded-Generally Northerly by lines,
485 and 1422 links respectively; Southerly by a line,
1903 links, to the point of commencement.
All that piece of land containing by admeasure-
ment 5 acres 1 rood 8 perches, being parts of the
Rangitikei-Manawatu Block B, in the Township of
Carnarvon, commencing at a point on the southern
boundary of the public road intersecting the said
block distant 2594 links easterly from the western
boundary of the said block. Bounded-Generally
Northerly by the southern boundary of the said
public road, 425, 523, 4608, 1627, 826, 783, and
1710 links respectively; on the East, 19 links, by the
Oroua River; generally Southerly by lines, 1746,
215, 636, 510, 1803, 833, 3520, 818, and 368 links
respectively to the point of commencement.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 9 acres, being portion of Native
land abutting on the western bank of the Oroua
Stream, in the Rangitikei-Manawatu Block B, com-
mencing at a point on the northern boundary of
public road with the intersection of the western bank
