Southern Railway to its intersection by the road forming the
south-western boundary of the Township of Hinds; thence
again towards the South-west and North-west by the south-
western and north-western boundaries of the said township;
thence again towards the North-east by the north-eastern
boundary of Hinds Township aforesaid; and thence again
towards the North-west by the Great Southern Railway afore-
said to the place of commencement.
Subdivision No. 1.
Bounded towards the North-west by the Great Southern
Railway; thence towards the North-east by a line along the
middle of the Ashburton River and by the Wakanui Road
District, hereinbefore described; thence towards the South-east
by Boundary Road; and thence towards the South-west by the
Hinds River to the place of commencement.
Subdivision No. 2.
Bounded towards the North-west by Subdivision No. 1,
hereinbefore described; thence towards the North-east by the
Wakanui Road District, hereinbefore described; thence towards
the South-east by the ocean; thence towards the South-west
by Sections Nos. 20962 and 20578, Hinds Survey District, to
Lowerbeach Road; thence again towards the North-west by
that road, Moore's Road, and Waterton Main Road; thence
again towards the South-west by Waterton New Road; thence
again towards the South-east by Dawson's Road; thence again
towards the South-west by Bell's Road; and thence again
towards the North-west by Longbeach Road to Subdivision
No. 1 aforesaid, the place of commencement.
Subdivision No. 3.
Bounded towards the North-west by Subdivision No. 1, here-
inbefore described; thence towards the East, North-east, and
South-east by Subdivision No. 2, hereinbefore described; thence
again towards the South-east by the ocean; thence towards the
North-west by the boundary drain and fence between the
Longbeach and the Loweliff Estates to Surveyors Road; and
thence towards the South-west by the Hinds River to Sub-
division No. 1 aforesaid, the place of commencement.
Subdivision No. 4.
Bounded towards the North-west by the Great Southern
Railway to its intersection by the road forming the south-
western boundary of the Township of Hinds; thence towards
the South-west and again towards the North-west by the
south-western and north-western boundaries of that township;
thence towards the North-east by the north-eastern boundary
of the Township of Hinds aforesaid; thence again towards the
North-west by the Great Southern Railway aforesaid; thence
again towards the North-east and towards the South-east by
Subdivisions Nos 1 and 3, hereinbefore described; thence again
towards the South east by the ocean; thence again towards
the South-west by a line being the production of the northern
side of Brogden's Road; thence by that road and Pye's Road;
and thence again towards the North-west by Coldstream Road
to the Great Southern Railway aforesaid, the place of com-
mencement.
Subdivision No. 5.
Bounded towards the North by the Great Southern Railway
as made; thence towards the South-east and North-east by
Subdivision No. 4, hereinbefore described; thence again towards
the South-east by the ocean; and thence towards the South-
west by a line along the middle of the Rangitata River to the
Great Southern Railway as made, the place of commencement.
Rangitata Road District.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury,
bounded towards the North-east by the south branch of the
River Ashburton, from Reserve No. 1357, Tripp Survey
District, to Section No. 25993, Alford Survey District; thence
by that section and a road to and along Section No. 25995,
Shepherd's Bush Surrey District, to the north branch of the
Hinds River; thence by a line along the middle of that branch
and the Hinds River to the Great Southern Railway; thence
towards the South-east by the Longbeach Road District, herein-
before described, to the middle of the Rangitata River; thence
towards the South-west by a line along the middle of that river;
and thence towards the North-west by Reserve No. 1357 (in
red) aforesaid to the south branch of the Ashburton River
aforesaid, the place of commencement.
Mount Somers Road District.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury,
bounded towards the North and North-east respectively by
a right line due east from the Southern Alps to the source of
the Rakaia River, near Whitcombe's Pass; thence by a line
along the middle of the Rakaia River to the Mount Hutt
Road District, hereinbefora described; thence by that road
district to a road forming the south-eastern boundary of
Section No. 28886, Spaxton Survey District; thence towards the
South-east by a line along the middle of that road and its con-
tinuation in a south-easterly direction to its junction with the
road forming the northern boundary of Section No. 25462,
Spaxton Survey District aforesaid; thence by said Section No.
25462 and by Sections Nos. 26852, 25538, 20654, 19708, 15441,
34166, and 11110, Westerfield Survey District, to the north
branch of the Ashburton River; thence towards the South-west
by a line along the middle of that branch to a point in line with
the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 16558, Wester-
field Survey District aforesaid; thence again towards the South-
east by a right line to and thence by the south-eastern boun-
dary-line of Section No. 20559, Westerfield Survey District
aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of that section; thence
by a right line to the northernmost corner of Section No. 30426,
Westerfield Survey District aforesaid; thence by that section and
Sections Nos. 26412, 8860, 34631, and 21336; thence by the con-
tinuation in easterly and westerly directions of a road forming the
north-western boundary of Section No. 29851, Westerfield Survey
District aforesaid, to the road forming the north-eastern boun-
dary of Section No. 21334, Westerfield Survey District afore-
said; thence by that section to the Hinds River; thence again
towards the South-west and South-east by the Rangitata Road
District, hereinbefore described, to the middle of the Rangitata
River; thence again towards the South-west and South-east by
a line along the middle of that river and Forest Creek respec-
tively to the source of the latter in Two-Thumb Range;
thence towards the West by the summit of that range to the
summit of the Southern Alps, near Mount Tyndall; and thence
towards the North-west by Westland County to the place of
commencement.
Upper Ashburton Road District.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury,
bounded towards the North-cast by the Mount Hutt Road Dis-
trict, hereinbefore described; thence again towards the North-
east, and towards the South-east, and North-west generally by
the South Rakain Road District, hereinbefore described; thence
towards the South-east by the Wakanui Road District, herein-
before described, the Borough of Ashburton, and the Long-
beach Road District, hereinbefore described; thence towards
the South-west by the Rangitata Read District, hereinbefore
described; and thence towards the North-west by the Mount
Somers Road District, hereinbefore described, to the place of
commencement.
Lagmhor Subdivision.
Bounded towards the North-east by the south branch
of the Ashburton River; thence towards the South-east
by the Longbeach Road District, hereinbefore described;
thence towards the South-west by the Rangitata Road Dis-
trict, hereinbefore described; thence towards the North-west
by the boundary-line between Westerfield Run and Lagmhor
Run, and by the northern boundary-line of Section No. 28782,
Westerfield Survey District, to the Valetta Road; thence again
towards the South-west by that road to Black's Road; and
thence again towards the North-west by the latter road to the
south branch of the Ashburton River aforesaid, the place of
commencement.
Westerfield Subdivision.
Bounded towards the North-east by the south branch of
the Ashburton River; thence towards the South-east and
again towards the North-east and South-east by the Lagmhor
Subdivision, hereinbefore described; thence towards the South-
west by the Rangitata Road District, hereinbefore described;
and thence towards the North-west by the Mount Somers Road
District, hereinbefore described, to the south branch of the
Ashburton River aforesaid, the place of commencement.
Forks Subdivision.
Bounded towards the North-east by the north branch of the
Ashburton River, from the Mount Somers Road to the Forks;
thence towards the South-west by the Lagmhor and the Wester-
field Subdivisions, hereinbefore described; and thence towards
the North-west and again towards the North-east by the Mount
Somers Road District aforesaid to the place of commencement.
Winchmore Subdivision.
Bounded towards the North-west by the Mount Somers and
the Mount Hutt Road Districts, hereinbefore described; thence
towards the North-east by the Mount Hutt Road District
aforesaid and the South Rakaia Road District, hereinbefore
described; thence towards the South east by Sections Nos.
27970, 2196 (in red), 2197 (in red), 28074, 27910, 27909, and
27908, Ashburton Survey District, and by Sections Nos. 27907,
10093, and 10743, Westerfield Survey District, to the north
branch of the Ashburton River; thence across that branch to
the Forks Subdivision, hereinbefore described; and thence
towards the South-west by that subdivision to the Mount
Somers Road District aforesaid, the place of commencement.
Hakatere Subdivision.
Bounded towards the North-west by the Winchmore Sub-
division, hereinbefore described; thence towards the North-east,
North-west, and again towards the North-east by the South
