Hills to the western side of the Dyer's Pass Road; thence again
towards the West by the Halswell Road District, hereinbefore
described, and the continuation of Colombo Road South to the
southern boundary of the Borough of Sydenham; thence again
towards the North and North-west by the said Borough of
Sydenham to the Ferry Road; thence again towards the North-
east, North-west, and South-west by the Town District of
Linwood to the place of commencement: excepting from the
above described area the Town Districts of Woolston and
Sumner.
Subdivision No. 1.
Bounded towards the North-east by the Canal Reserve; thence
towards the South-east by the Town District of Woolston;
thence again towards the South-east and towards the South-
west by the Heathcote River; thence towards the North-west
by the Borough of Sydenham; and thence again towards the
North-east and North-west by the Town District of Linwood
to the place of commencement.
Subdivision No. 2.
Bounded towards the North-west, North, and East by the
Avon Road District, hereinbefore described, and the Avon and
Heathcote Estuary; thence towards the South-west by the
Town District of Woolston, Subdivision No. 1, hereinbefore
described, and the Town District of Linwood to the place of
commencement.
Subdivision No. 3.
Bounded towards the North by the Borough of Sydenham,
Subdivision No. 1, hereinbefore described, and the Town Dis-
trict of Woolston; thence across the Heathcote River; and
towards the East by the bridle-path; thence towards the South-
east by the Borough of Lyttelton to its western boundary;
thence towards the West by a line due north to the summit
of the Port Hills; thence again towards the South-east by
the summit of the said Port Hills to the western side of the
Dyer's Pass Road; and thence again towards the West by
the Halswell Road District, hereinbefore described, and the
continuation of Colombo Road South to the place of com-
mencement.
Subdivision No. 4.
Bounded towards the North-east and North-west generally
by the Town District of Sumner and the ocean; thence
towards the South by Lyttelton Harbour and the Borough of
Lyttelton; and thence towards the West by Subdivision No. 3,
hereinbefore described; and thence towards the North by the
Avon and Heathcote Estuary to the place of commencement.
Spreydon Road District.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury,
bounded towards the North-west, North-east, and again
towards the North-west respectively by the Riccarton Road
District, hereinbefore described, from the junction of the Great
South Road with the Harewood Road by Riccarton to the
Borough of Sydenham; thence towards the North and again
towards the North-east by the Borough of Sydenham aforesaid
and the Heathcote Road District, hereinbefore described; thence
towards the South-east by the Halswell Road District, herein-
before described, to the River Halswell; thence towards the
South-west by that river and the south-west side of the old
river-bed to the Great South Road; and thence again towards
the North-west by the Templeton Road District, hereinafter
described, to the Riccarton Road District aforesaid, the place
of commencement.
Lincoln Road District.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury,
bounded towards the North-east and East by the Spreydon
and the Halswell Road Districts, hereinbefore described;
thence towards the South by the south bank of the River
Halswell; thence towards the South-west by a line along
the middle of the Ellesmere Junction Road; thence towards
the North-west by a line along the middle of the Lincoln and
Prebbleton Road; thence again towards the South-west by a
line along the middle of the Lincoln and Coal Tramway Road
and the Weedon and Springs Road to the Great South Road;
and thence by a line along the middle of that road and by
the Templeton Road District, hereinafter described, to the
Spreydon Road District aforesaid, the place of commencement.
Subdivision No. 1.
Bounded towards the North-west by the north-western boun-
dary-line of the Lincoln Road District, hereinbefore described;
thence towards the North-east by the Waterholes and Harwood
and Hampton Roads; thence towards the South-east by Shand's
Road; and thence towards the South-west by a line along the
middle of the Lincoln and Coal Tramway Road and the Weedon
and Springs Road to the place of commencement.
Subdivision No. 2.
Bounded towards the North-west by the north-western boun-
dary-line of the Lincoln Road District, hereinbefore described;
thence towards the North-east by the north-eastern boundary-
line of that road district; thence towards the South-east by
the Springs Road; and thence towards the South-west by the
Harwood and Hampton Road and by Subdivision No. 1,
hereinbefore described, to the place of commencement.
Subdivision No. 3.
Bounded towards the North-west by Subdivision No. 1,
hereinbefore described; thence towards the North-east by Sub-
division No. 2, hereinbefore described, the Harwood and
Hampton Road and the Lincoln and Prebbleton Road, and
Halswell Road by Ladbrook's; thence towards the South-
east by the Ellesmere Road by Dawson's; and thence towards
the South-west by the south-western boundary-line of the Lin-
coln Road District, hereinbefore described, to the place of com-
mencement.
Subdivision No. 4.
Bounded towards the North-east by the north-eastern boun-
dary-line of the Lincoln Road District, hereinbefore described;
thence towards the South and South-east by Leadley's Road
and Bell's Road, and Halswell Road by Ladbrook's to Sub-
division No. 3, hereinbefore described; thence towards the
South-west and West by that subdivision and Subdivision
No. 2, hereinbefore described, to the place of commencement.
Subdivision No. 5.
Bounded towards the North-west by Subdivision No. 4,
hereinbefore described; thence towards the North, North-east,
and South by the northern, north-eastern, and southern boun-
daries of the Lincoln Road District, hereinbefore described;
and thence towards the South-west by the south-western
boundary-lines of that road district; and thence again towards
the North-west by Subdivision No. 3, hereinbefore described,
to the place of commencement.
Springs Road District.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury, bounded
towards the North-east by the Lincoln Road District, herein-
before described, and the west bank of the River Halswell;
thence towards the South-east by Akaroa County; thence
towards the South-west and again towards the South-east by
the shore of Lake Ellesmere to the outflow of the River
Selwyn; thence again towards the South-west by that river
to where it is crossed by the Great Southern Railway; and
thence towards the North-west by the Great Southern Railway
aforesaid to where it is intersected by the southern side of
the Great South Road; and thence by a line along the middle
of that road to the Lincoln Road District aforesaid, the place
of commencement.
Templeton Road District.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury, bounded
towards the North by a line along the middle of the Waimaka-
riri River; thence towards the South-east and North-cast by
the Riccarton Road District, hereinbefore described; thence
towards the South and again towards the South-east by the
Great South Road; thence towards the South-west by a line
along the middle of the road forming the north-eastern boun-
dary of Section No. 6363, Rolleston Survey District; thence
towards the North-west by a line along the middle of the
Newton and Coal Tramway Road; and thence again towards
the South-west and North-west by a line along the middle of
the Dawson's and Waimakariri Road and its production to
the middle of the Waimakariri River aforesaid, the place of
commencement.
Courtenay Road District.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury, bounded
towards the North by a line along the middle of the Waima-
kariri River; thence towards the East by the Templeton Road
District, hereinbefore described; thence towards the South-
east by the Lincoln and the Springs Road Districts, hereinbe-
fore described; thence towards the South-west by the River
Selwyn and the Wakaepu branch thereof; thence towards the
North-west by a line along the middle of the road forming the
north-western boundary of Section No. 24284, Hawkins Survey
District; thence by that road continued to the northernmost
corner of Section No. 1524, aforesaid survey district; thence
by the production of the south side of said road to the
eastern boundary-line of Section No. 14156, Hawkins Survey
District aforesaid; thence by that boundary-line and the south-
eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 19530, 19529, 2016,
18640, and 18421, Hawkins's Survey District aforesaid, and the
south-eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section pro-
duced to the middle of the Waimakariri River aforesaid, the
place of commencement.
