Extending Time for Preparation of Valuation Roll, Borough
of Kumara.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
seventh day of March, 1883.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Council of the Borough of Kumara neglected
to appoint a Valuer for the said borough, as required by
"The Rating Act, 1876," in the place of the Valuer resigned,
and no valuation list was prepared and transmitted to the said
Council on or before the fifteenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three, as required by the said Act:
And whereas it is expedient to extend the time for making and
transmitting to the said Council the said valuation list, and
also to extend the times during which the said list shall be open
for inspection, and objections thereto be made:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in him by the
said "Rating Act, 1876," doth hereby extend the above-
mentioned times for doing the said things, as specified in the
Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.

For transmitting to the Borough Council the valuation
list: On or before the 9th March, 1883. -
Valuation list to be open for inspection, and objections
thereto to be received: Until the 9th April, 1883.

Fixing Shooting Season for Native and Imported Game,
License Fee, &c., Hawera District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals
Protection Act, 1880," and "The Animals Protection Act
Amendment Act, 1881," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify
that cock-pheasants and Californian quail may be taken or killed
within the Hawera District, consisting of the Counties of Hawera
and Patea, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-three, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three, both inclusive (subject never-
theless to the restrictions in the said Act mentioned). And I
do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within
the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of thirty
shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be
issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the
Postmaster at Hawera is hereby appointed to issue the said
licenses. And I do further notify that native game (excepting
tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the
twenty-third day of March, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-three, to the twenty-third day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three, both inclusive.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three.

Season for Shooting Native Game in Marlborough.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals
Protection Act, 1880," and "The Animals Protection Act
Amendment Act, 1881," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare
that cock-pheasants and Californian quail may be taken or killed
within the Marlborough District, consisting of the Counties of
Marlborough and Sounds, excepting the area described in the
Second Schedule hereto, from the fourteenth day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, to the thirtieth day
of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, both
inclusive. And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill
such game within the said district shall be issued on payment
of the sum of one pound each, and that licenses to sell such
game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each;
and that the Chief Postmaster at Blenheim is hereby appointed
to issue the said licenses.
And I do further notify that the native game mentioned in
the First Schedule hereto may be taken or killed within the
said district during the period between the twentieth day of
March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, and the
thirty-first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
three, both inclusive.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
WILD duck of any species, bittern, pied stilt plover, wild geese,
dotterell, teal, black stilt plover, curlew, quail.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DISTRICT IN WHICH IMPORTED AND NATIVE GAME MAY NOT
BE TAKEN OR KILLED.
ALL that portion of the Counties of Marlborough and Sounds
known as the Wairau Lagoons. Bounded generally on the
West by the Wairau River to the confluence of the Opawa, and
by that river to Morgan's Creek; thence by Morgan's Creek
and Sections Nos. 22, 21, and 20 to the north-west angle of
Section No. 18, all in the District of Opawa; thence southerly
by said Section No. 18 to the Mud Flats; thence southerly by
Sections Nos. 18, 15, 14, part of 13, 7 of Block I., Section No. 8
of Block II. in the said district, and Sections Nos. 9 and 10 of
Block II., District of Awatere, to the Boulder Bank; thence
northerly by the sea to the mouth of the Wairau River, at the
point of departure.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.
