Season for Shooting Native Game in County of Grey.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals
Protection Act, 1880," and "The Animals Protection Act
Amendment Act, 1881," I, William Francis Drummond Jer-
vois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
declare that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or
killed within the County of Grey, excepting the Borough of
Greymouth, during the period between the first day of April,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, and the thirty-
first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three,
both inclusive.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.

Fixing Shooting Season for Native and Imported Game,
License Fee, &c., Cook District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals Pro-
tection Act, 1880," and "The Animals Protection Act
Amendment Act, 1881," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify
that cock-pheasants may be taken or killed within the Cook
District, consisting of the County of Cook, from the first day of
May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, to the
thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
three, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in
the said Act mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses
to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued
on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that
licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum
of five pounds each; and the Postmaster at Gisborne is hereby
appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further notify
that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within
the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three, to the thirty-first day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, both inclusive.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.

Otago District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals
Protection Act, 1880," and "The Animals Protection Act
Amendment Act, 1881," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify
that hares and Californian quail may be taken or killed within
the Otago District, being all that area in the Provincial District
of Otago, bounded on the East and South by the ocean from
Shag Point to the mouth of the Mataura River; on the West,
South-west, and South by the Mataura River and the Counties
of Southland and Wallace; on the North-west by the ocean;
and on the North, North-west, and North-east by the Counties
of Westland and Waitaki, excepting therefrom the County of
Lake, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-three, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three, both inclusive (subject never-
theless to the restrictions in the said Act mentioned). And I
do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within
the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of
twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall
be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the
Chief Postmaster at Dunedin is hereby appointed to issue the
said licenses. And I do further notify that native game
(excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district
from the second day of April, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-three, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three, both inclusive.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.

of Rotorua.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by the tenth section
of "The Thermal-Springs Districts Act, 1881," I, William
Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby appoint
HERBERT WILLIAM BRABANT, Esq., R.M.,
THOMAS HOPE LEWIS, Esq., L.S.A.L., M.R.C.S.E., and
ROTOHIKO HAUPAPA
to be a Board to administer the affairs of the Township of
Rotorua, established under the said Act; and by the like authority
I do hereby delegate to the said Board all the powers conferred
upon or vested in me by virtue of subsections six and seven of
section six of the said Act.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three.

Altering Polling-place, Inangahua Electoral District.

WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1881," it
is enacted that the Governor may from time to time
appoint, alter, and abolish polling-places for each electoral dis-
trict within the limits thereof, and may appoint any one of such
polling-places to be the principal polling-place of the district,
and that no polling-place shall be appointed unless the Governor
shall be first satisfied that the place to be appointed is more
convenient than any others for at least twenty electors to record
their votes thereat:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish Mr.
Hugh McColl's dwelling-house at Capleston as a polling-place
for the Electoral District of Inangahua, and do appoint in lieu
thereof.
The Government Schoolhouse at Capleston
to be a polling-place for the said electoral district.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.

Defining the Purpose of Reserves.

WHEREAS by clause five of the "Public Reserves Act,
1881," it is enacted that if there shall, in the opinion of the
Governor, be any doubt or uncertainty as to the purpose for
which such reserve was set apart, the Governor may, by notice
gazetted, define such purpose or purposes as to either the whole
or any part of such reserve:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby define the
purpose of the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto to be
for lighthouse purposes.
SCHEDULE.
ALL those islands in the Hauraki Gulf called or known by the
names of the Pokohinu, Hen and Chickens, Poor Knights,
and Fanal Islands.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-three.
