SECOND SCHEDULE.

COUNTY OF WAIRARAPA EAST.

Alfredton Riding.--Bounded towards the North-east by the
Manawatu River, from the Gorge to the Tiraumea River;
thence towards the East and North by the said Tiraumea River
and the Waitawhiti Stream to the north-west angle of Section
No. 174, Puketoi Survey District; thence towards the South-
east by said Section No. 174 and by Section No. 175 to the
westermost angle of the latter section; thence by a right line
to the Taueru River at the north-west corner of Section No.
157, Mangapakeha Survey District; thence by the said Taueru
River to Section No. 225, said Mangapakeha Survey District;
thence towards the South-west by said Section No. 225 and by
Sections Nos. 224, 223, 131, 26, 25, 14, and 13, Mangapakeha Sur-
vey District aforesaid, by Sections Nos. 85, 82, and 84, Mangaone
Survey District, to the westernmost angle of the last-mentioned
section; thence towards the South by a right line to the north-
east corner of Section No. 2, Mauriceville, said Mangaone
Survey District; thence by said Section No. 2, and by
Nos. 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, and 12, Mauriceville aforesaid; thence by a
right line to the south-west corner of Native reserve; thence
towards the South-west by a right line bearing north 60Β° west
(true) to the Manawatu County; and thence towards the
North-west by the said Manawatu County to the place of
commencement.

Masterton Riding. Bounded towards the North-east and
North by the Alfredton Riding, from the Manawatu County to
the Taueru River; thence towards the South-east by the said
Taueru River; thence towards the South-west by the Wairarapa
West County; and thence towards the North-west by the said
Manawatu County to the place of commencement: exclusive of
the Borough of Masterton.

Castlepoint Riding. Bounded towards the North by the
Waipawa County, from the confluence of the Tiraumea and the
Manawatu Rivers to the mouth of the Waimata Stream on the
East Coast; thence towards the South-east by the ocean to the
mouth of the Whareama River; thence towards the South-west
by the said Whareama River to its confluence with the Waihora
Stream; thence again towards the South-east by the said
Waihora Stream to the north-west angle of Section No. 679,
Rewa Survey District; thence by a right line to the easternmost
angle of Section No. 669, said Rewa Survey District; thence
again towards the South-west by the said Section No. 669 to the
Kaumingi Stream, and by the said Kaumingi Stream to the
Taueru River; and thence towards the North-west generally by
the Masterton and the Alfredton Ridings respectively to the
place of commencement.

Wainuioru Riding. Bounded towards the North-east by the
Castlepoint Riding; thence towards the South-east by the
ocean; thence towards the South-west by the Wairarapa West
County and thence towards the North-west by the said
Wairarapa West County and by the Masterton Riding to the
place of commencement.

COUNTY OF WAIRARAPA WEST.

Carterton Riding. Bounded towards the North-east by the
Wairarapa East County, from the Manawatu County to the
Taueru River, and by that river to its junction with the
Ruamahanga River; thence towards the South-east and South
by the said Ruamahanga River to its confluence with the
Waiohine River; thence towards the South-west by the said
Waiohine River to its source; thence by a right line due west
to the Hutt County; and thence towards the North-west by
the said Hutt County and by the said Manawatu County to
the place of commencement.

Greytown Riding. Bounded towards the North-east by the
Carterton Riding, from the Hutt County to the confluence of
the Waiohine River with the Ruamahanga River; thence
towards the South-east by the said Ruamahanga River and the
Pohaturiki Stream, and by Sections Nos. 5, 51, 43, 42, 37, and
36, Huangarua Survey District, to the Whangaebu Stream;
thence again towards the South-east by the said Whangaehu
Stream; thence towards the South and South-west by the
Whangaehu Stream aforesaid and by the Huangarua River to
its confluence with the Ruamahanga River aforesaid; thence
by the Ruamabanga River to the easternmost corner of Section
No. 103, said Huangarua Survey District; thence towards the
South-west generally by said Section No. 103 and by Sections
Nos. 21, 90, 91, 80, 28, 27, 31, 70, 69, a road-line fronting
Sections Nos. 92 and 33, and by the last-mentioned section (all
of the Moroa Block, Wairarapa Survey District), to the
Tauherenikau River; thence towards the West and South by
the said Tauherenikau Kiver to its source, and by a right line
from thence west (magnetic) to the Hutt County; and thence
again towards the West by the said Hutt County to the place
of commencement: exclusive of the Borough of Greytown.

Ruamahanga River and by the western shore of Onoke Lake
to the ocean; thence towards the South-west by the ocean;
and thence towards the North-west by the said Hutt County
to the place of commencement.

Otaraia Riding.--Bounded towards the North and North-
east by Greytown Riding, from the confluence of the Huangarua
and the Ruamahanga Rivers to the confluence of the said
Huangarua River with the Whangaehu Stream; thence
towards the East by the Huangarua River aforesaid, and by
the Ruakokopatuna Stream, and by a straight line south
(magnetic) from the south-east angle of Section No. 22, Whare-
kaka Block, Waipawa Survey District, to a point distant about
three miles; thence towards the South-east by a straight line
to the source of the Hurupi Stream; thence by the said Hurupi
Stream to the ocean; thence towards the South-west by the
ocean and by the eastern shore of Onoke Lake; thence
towards the North-west by Featherston Riding, by the eastern
shore of the Wairarapa Lake, and again by the said Featherston
Riding to the easternmost ost angle of Section No. 103, Morca
Block, Huangarua Survey District; and thence again towards
the North by the Greytown Riding aforesaid to the place of
commencement.

Gladstone Riding.--Bounded towards the North-east by the
Wairarapa East County; thence towards the South-east by the
ocean to the mouth of the Pahaoa River; thence towards the
South-west by the said Pahaoa River to its confluence with the
Kaikaikuri Stream; thence by a right line to the Whangaehu
Stream, at the south-western angle of Section No. 96, Ahiaruhi
Block, Huangarua Survey District; thence towards the North-
west, towards the South, and towards the West by Greytown
Riding to the confluence of the Waiohine and Ruamahanga
Rivers; and thence again towards the North by Carterton
Riding to the place of commencement.

Awhea Riding. Bounded towards the North-east by Grey-
town and Gladstone Ridings; thence towards the South-east
and South-west by the ocean; and thence towards the North-
west and West by Otaraia Riding to the place of commence-
ment.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS under the powers contained in "The Counties
Act, 1876," I have by Proclamation of even date
herewith, altered the boundaries of the Counties of Wairarapa
East and Wairarapa West, and dissolved the Councils of
the said counties, and redivided the altered counties into
ridings, and it is necessary that elections of new Councils should
be held for the new ridings of the said counties whose boundaries
