Pakarau Pa Block, No. 767, and the south-eastern boundary
of the Matakirae Block, No. 356, to the Piakoiti Stream;
and towards the South-west generally by the Piakoiti Stream
which forms part of the south-west boundary of said block
and the Piako River to its intersection by a right line drawn
between the summit of Te Aroha Mountain and the north-
eastern angle of the Waikato Military Settlements Block;
thence by a right line to Hapuakohe Pass; thence by a right
line to the most northerly source of the Whangamarino
River; thence by a right line to the nearest point of the
Wharekawa Range; thence by a line along the summit of
that range and Wairoa Range, and by the leading spur to
Orere Point, the place of commencement.
WAIKATO DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the North-west, West, and North from
the mouth of the Awaroa Stream; by the northern shore of
the Whangape Lake; thence by the Whangape Stream;
thence by the right bank of the Waikato River to the Wha-
ngamarino River; thence by that river to its most northerly
source in the Pataroa Range; thence towards the North-
east generally by the Hauraki Resident Magistrate's Districts,
hereinbefore described, to the north-eastern angle of the
Waiharakeke East Block, No. 2723; thence by a line along
the summit of the Te Aroha Range to the nearest point to
Otanewainuku Mountain, and thence by a right line to the
said mountain; thence towards the South-east by a right
line to Motukakapo, thence by a right line to Rangitoto;
thence towards the South by a right line to the source of the
Mokau River; thence towards the South-west by a right line
bearing north 22° 30' west to the summit of the watershed
between the Waipa River and the West Coast; thence
towards the West by that summit to Pirongia Mountain, by
part of the western boundary of the Military Settlements
Block to the north-western angle of that block; thence by
a right line to the summit of the watershed between the
Waikato River and the West Coast, at a point due east of
Waikarea; thence by that summit to a point due west of
the mouth of the Awaroa Stream in Whangape Lake; and
again towards the North by a right line to said mouth, the
place of commencement.

Proclaiming Part II. of "The Fugitive Offenders Act, 1881"
(Imperial), in force in New Zealand.

A PROCLAMATION:
WHEREAS Her Majesty the Queen in Council has been
pleased to issue an order, dated the twenty-third
of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three,
directing that, on and after the first day of January, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, Part II. of "The
Fugitive Offenders Act, 1881" (44 and 45 Vict., cap. 69),
shall apply to a group of British possessions, including New
Zealand, in the said order specified; and has, by such order,
further directed that the Governor of each of the said posses-
sions shall cause the said order to be proclaimed in the
colony under his government:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and publish the said Order in Council of the twenty-third
day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three,
as set forth in the Schedule hereto.

the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-

WHEREAS by reason of the contiguity of the Australasian
Colonies, including New Zealand and Fiji, and the frequent
intercommunication among them, it seems expedient to Her
Majesty, and conducive to the better administration of justice
therein, that Part II. of "The Fugitive Offenders Act, 1881,"
should apply to the said colonies:
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, by virtue of the powers in
this behalf by "The Fugitive Offenders Act, 1881," or other-
wise, in Her Majesty vested, is pleased, by and with the
advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby
ordered, as follows:-
On and after the 1st day of January, 1884, Part II. of
"The Fugitive Offenders Act, 1881," shall apply to the group
of British possessions hereunder mentioned, that is to say,
New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland,
New Zealand, Tasmania, Western Australia, and Fiji.
- The Governor of each of the said possessions shall cause
this order to be proclaimed in the colony under his govern-
ment.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is vested in a certain aboriginal native of New Zea-
land, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such
land, and application has been made for the removal of such
restrictions:
It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excel-
lency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty
days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and
in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the aliena-
tion of the said land.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
