Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Auckland. Further Terms and Conditions of Special Settlement
on Manawaru Block, in the Te Aroha Block, by
Messrs. Grant and Foster.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:
And whereas it is expedient to set apart the land
described in the Schedule hereto for sale on deferred
payments:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Chief Jus-
tice of the Colony of New Zealand, and Administrator
of the Government thereof, in pursuance and exercise
of the power and authority vested in me by the above-
named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for
sale on deferred payments; and that Monday, the
fourth day of December, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two, shall be the day on which the said
land shall be open for application at the Land Offices
at Auckland and Gisborne, in allotments as sur-
veyed and marked on the selection map in the Land
Office and the principal land office of the district.
And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of
"The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do
hereby fix the price at which the land so described
shall be sold to be the price set opposite each allot-
ment in the Schedule hereto.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this
thirty-first day of October, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE
GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Land Act 1877 Amendment
Act, 1879," it is enacted that the Governor
in Council may fix the terms and conditions upon
which the lands in any special settlement shall be
disposed of, and the mode of payment for the same:
And whereas the Governor has, by Proclamation in the
New Zealand Gazette, bearing date the thirty-first day
of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
two, set apart six hundred and sixty-two acres of a
block of rural land in the North Island of New Zea-
land, known as the Manawaru Block, as a special
settlement under and for the purposes of the said
Act, as therein mentioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred upon him by the hereinbefore in part
recited Act, and by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby fix the following terms and conditions as
those upon which the said special settlement shall be
disposed of, and the mode of payment for the same,
that is to say,-

The price to be paid for the said six hundred
and sixty-two acres shall be one thousand two hun-
dred and eighty-four pounds, being a competent
valuation at the rate of about two pounds one shilling
and fourpence per acre. -
The said Manawaru Block shall form part of and
be incorporated with the special settlement of the
Te Aroha Block formed or to be formed by Samuel
Grant and John Stovin Foster in pursuance of an
Order in Council issued on the seventh day of De-
cember, one thousand eight hundred and eighty; and
all the terms and conditions for the formation of the
last-mentioned special settlement set forth in such
last-mentioned Order in Council shall, so far as they
are applicable, apply to and be the terms and condi-
tions for the settlement of the Manawaru Block
aforesaid.
