The rural sections in Block XII., Kaupokonui,
and Block IX., Ngaire, are inland of the Waimate
Plains, west of the Waingongoro Stream and Eltham
Railway-station. From Eltham and other points,
roads have been opened up to this land, which is on
the railway-line from Waitara and New Plymouth to
Hawera. With the exception of a few rata, the
bush consists mainly of soft woods and other light
timber, and can easily be cleared. The country is
well-watered, and is admirably adapted for conversion
into grass lands.
Applications may be made at the Land Offices,
Patea or Hawera, on Wednesday, the 6th September.
Applicants for any of the above lands may send
their applications and deposits, being one-twentieth
of the upset price, with statutory declaration as re-
quired by "The Land Act, 1877," through the post
to the Land Office, Patea, to arrive on or before Wed-
nesday, the 6th September. Envelopes should be
marked "Application for deferred-payment land,
Survey District."
Residence not compulsory for bush lands.
In the event of more than one application being
received for any one section, the right to occupy the
same will be decided by public auction, at Hawera,
on Friday, the 8th September, at 11 o'clock a.m.
