forming the eastern boundary of Sections Nos. 246,
247, 248, 249, and 250; towards the East by said
road; thence across a road and by Sections Nos. 240,
239, 238, 237, 236, across a road, by Sections Nos.
235, 234, 232, and 231; thence across a road and by
Section Nos. 1 of 1 and 2 of 1 to the westernmost
corner of last-named section; thence by a right line
to the south-east corner of Section No. 51; thence
by Sections Nos. 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, and 47 to the
south-west corner of last-named section; thence by
a right line to the north-west corner of Section No.
82; thence by a right line to the southernmost angle
of Section No. 151 of Wai-iti Survey District;

corner of last-named section; thence by a right line
to the most easterly corner of Section No. 10, Thorpe
Suburban; thence by said section, and by Sections

to the River Dove; thence by and across that river
to the north-west corner of Section No. 88, by that
section to its south-west corner; thence by a right
line to the south-east corner of Section No. 103;
thence by Section No. 104 and across a road to the
Motueka River; thence by that river to the mouth
of the River Baton; thence by a right line due west
to the dividing range between the east and west
coasts; and towards the South-west and West by a
right line to the junction of the Leslie and Karamea
Rivers, and by a right line to Mount Snowden: as
the same is delineated on the maps in the Survey
Office, Nelson.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Town Districts Act, 1881"
(hereinafter called "the said Act"), it is,
among other things, enacted that the inhabitants of
any locality not constituted a borough under "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," wherein there
are not less than fifty householders, may apply by
petition to the Governor praying that such locality
may be constituted a town district under the said Act;
and that no such locality shall exceed two square
miles in area, and no one point in such area shall be
distant more than four miles from any other point
therein, except in the case of military townships;
and that in every such locality not less than two-
thirds of the number of the resident householders
shall concur in any such petition, and each signature
to such petition shall be verified by the attestation
of some respectable witness; and that such petition
shall set forth accurately the boundaries of the
locality to which such petition may refer; and also
that, on the receipt of any such petition, the Gover-
nor may, by Proclamation, declare that the provisions
of the said Act shall come into force within such
locality, and that the same shall be a town district
under the said Act; and, further, that such Procla-
mation shall accurately define the boundaries of the
district in accordance with the description contained
in the petition, and shall declare the name by which
such district shall thereafter be known:
And whereas a petition has been presented to the
Governor, by the inhabitants of the locality men-
tioned and described therein, praying that such
locality may be constituted a town district under the
said Act:
And whereas not less than two-thirds of the num-
ber of residen: householders in the said locality have
concurred in the said petition, and it is expedient
that a Proclamation should be issued under the said
Act for the purposes hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Ad-
ministrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in me by the hereinbefore in part
recited Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
provisions of the said Act shall come into force within
the locality or district mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereto (the same being the locality men-
tioned and set forth in the said petition, so presented
as aforesaid), and that the same shall be a town dis-
trict under the said Act; and, in further pursuance
and exercise of the said power and authority, I do
hereby declare that the said district shall hereafter
be known by the name of "The Papakura Town Dis-
trict," and I do appoint that the Board of Commis-
sioners for the said district shall consist of five in
number.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at the place of intersection of the north-
western boundary of Allotment No. 13 of Section
No. 8 of the Town of Papakura by the Auckland and
Waikato Railway. Bounded towards the North by
the railway-line aforesaid from the place above named
to Hewling's line; thence by Hewling's line to the
easternmost angle of Allotment No. 41 of the Parish of
Papakura; thence by a right line in a south-easterly
direction, and being the production of the north-
eastern boundary of Allotment No. 41 aforesaid, to
the southern side of the road which forms the north-
western boundary of Allotment No. 3 of the Parish
of Opaheke, and by that road to the northern angle
of Allotment No. 3, last named; thence by the north-
eastern boundary-line of Allotment No. 3 to the
north-western angle of Allotment No. 15 of the
Kerikeri Settlement, and by the north-western boun-
daries of Allotments Nos. 15 and 16 to the northern-
most angle of the last-named lot; towards the East
by the road which forms the eastern boundaries of
the north-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 54,
53, 50, 48, 45, 43, 42, 36, and 37 of the Settlement of
Kerikeri aforesaid to the south-eastern angle of the
last-named lot; towards the South by the road
forming the southern boundary of the Settlement of
Kerikeri aforesaid from the place last named to the
