Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred by the sixth section of "The Public
Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and of
every power and authority in that behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the
Schedule hereto is taken for the said portion of the
said line of railway.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 2 roods 1 perch, being portion of
Section 559; commencing at a point 148 links
from the north-eastern corner of said section.
Bounded on the North by the Ohangai Road, 148
links; on the East by the Waihi Road, 819 links;
on the West by a line to commencing point, 910
links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 4 perches, being
portion of Section 136; commencing at the northern-
most corner of said section. Bounded on the East
by lines, 2577 and 325 links respectively; on the
South by Section 137, 101 links; on the West by
lines and the Waihi Road, 313, 1833, and 749 links
respectively, to commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 5 perches, being
portion of Section 137; commencing at a point 358
links from the north-western corner of said section.
Bounded on the North by Section 136, 101 links;
generally Easterly by lines, 325, 348, 30, 400, 30, and
3261 links respectively; on the South by Section 140,
104 links; generally Westerly by lines, 3229, 20, 400,
20, 348, 336, and 22 links respectively, to the com-
mencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 2 acres and 9 perches, being portion
of Section 140; commencing at a point 1579 links
from the north-western corner of said section.
Bounded on the North by Section 137, 104 links;
on the East by a line, 2055 links; on the South by
Section 144, 104 links; on the West by a line to
the commencing point, 2055 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 1 acre and 20 perches, being portion of
Section 144; commencing at a point 2190 links from
the north-western corner of said section. Bounded
towards the North by Section 140, 104 links; towards
the East by a line, 1078 links; towards the South by
Section 146, 120 links; towards the West to the
commencing point by a line, 1176 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 2 roods 19 perches, being portion
of Section 146; commencing at a point 1323 links
from the north-eastern corner of Section 144.
Bounded on the East by a line, 727 links; on the
South-west by Section 145, 179 links; on the West
by a line, 511 links; on the North by Section 144
to the commencing point, 120 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 32 perches, being
portion of Section 145; commencing at a point 425
links from the northermost corner of said section.
Bounded on the North-east by Section 146, 179 links;
on the East by a line, 2703 links; on the South-west
by Section 149, 179 links; on the West by a line to
the commencing point, 2703 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 2 roods 5 perches, being portion of
Section 149; commencing at a point 1540 links
from the northernmost corner of said section.
Bounded on the North-east by Section 145, 179 links;
on the East by a line, 437 links; on the South by the

Turuturu Road, 108 links; on the West by a line to
the commencing point, 627 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 26 perches, being
portion of Section 178; commencing at a point 2530
links from the westernmost corner of said section.
Bounded—Generally Easterly by lines, 2268, 60,
1000, 60, 337, and 47 links respectively; on the South-
east by Section 179, 120 links; generally Westerly
by lines, 113, 337, 40, 1000, 40, and 2227 links
respectively; on the North by the Turuturu Road
to the commencing point, 108 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 4 acres 1 rood 11 perches, being portion
of Section 179; commencing at a point 437 links from
the south-western corner of Section 178. Bounded
Generally North-easterly by lines, 108, 155, 25,
289, 190, 25, 181, 181, and 136 links respectively;
North-west by a line, 200 links; North-easterly by a
line, 400 links; on the South-east by Section 180,
350 links; on the South-west by the Glover Road,
400 and 1197 links respectively; on the North-west
by Section 178 to the commencing point, 437 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 5 acres 2 roods 16 perches, being por-
tion of Section 180; commencing at a point 350
links from the south-western corner of Section 179.
Bounded on the North-east by a line, 1600 links; on
the South-east by the Tawhiti Road, 350 links; on
the South-west by the Glover Road, 1600 links; on
the North-west by Section 179 to the commencing
point, 350 links.

Be all the aforesaid measurements either more or
less; and the several parcels of land being situated
in the Survey District of Hawera, Provincial District
of Taranaki; and are more particularly delineated
upon the plan marked P.W.D. 9087, deposited in the
office of the Minister for Public Works, at Welling-
ton, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice,
the Administrator of the Government of
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fourth day of August, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken under "The
Public Works Act, 1876," and "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," for a certain work,
to wit, the construction of a road in the Wai-iti
Survey District, Provincial District of Nelson :
And whereas the Waimea Highway Board has
laid before the Governor the memorial and map
mentioned in and signed and certified as required
by the said Acts:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Ad-
ministrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested
by sections twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three,
