THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

twenty-four, and twenty-five of "The Public Works
Act, 1876," and by section twenty-eight of "The
Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and
of any other power and authority enabling me in
that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby
taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from
and after the tenth day of August, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two, the land so de-
scribed shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple
in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages,
charges, claims, estates, and interests of what kind
soever, for use as a road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 1 acre, more or less, situate in the
Survey District of Wai-iti, in the Provincial District
of Nelson, being portions of Sections Nos. 45 and 93,
both of Square IV.; commencing at a point on the
north-west boundary of Section No. 93 286 links
from the north-west corner of said section; thence
south-east 116° 50', 530 links, and 130° 31', 1491
links, through Sections Nos. 93 and 45, to a point on
the west side of the main road from Belgrove to
Nelson 835 links, south-west 222° 55', from the inter-
section by said road of the north-east boundary of
Section No. 45; thence 50 links, south-west 222° 55',
along said road; thence north-west 310° 31', 1483
links, and 296° 50', 512 links, through said Sections
Nos. 45 and 93, to the north-west boundary of Sec-
tion No. 93; thence north-east 13° 10', 51 links, along
said boundary to starting point: the above linkages
being more or less, and the same being more particu-
larly delineated on the map (bordered green) attached
to the memorial above referred to.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice,
the Administrator of the Government of
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
seventh day of August, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS a certain railway was proclaimed in
the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-second
day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
two, under the name of the Invercargill and Mataura
Railway, and the said railway now forms part of the
Waitaki-Bluff Railway:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required for a portion of the said railway:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
by virtue and in pursuance of the power conferred
upon him by the sixth and fourteenth sections of
"The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878,"
and of every other power enabling him in that behalf,

doth hereby declare and proclaim that the said land
so described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the
said portion of the said railway.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 13 acres 2 roods 7 perches, more or
less, situate in portions of the Invercargill and
Oteramika Hundreds, and of Block LXIII., Mabel
District, commencing at a point on the northern
boundary-line of Section No. 49, in the said Inver-
cargill Hundred, 685 links distant from the north-
western corner thereof. Bounded-Generally North-
westerly by a right line 113 links, by a curved line
533 links, by right lines 1808, 1942, and 604 links
respectively, by right lines 433, 192, 250, and 324
links respectively; North-easterly by a road 63 links,
by a curved line 599 links, by a right line 132 links;
North-westerly by a right line, 703 links; North-
easterly by a road, 172 links; generally North-
westerly by a road-line 100 links, by right lines 1022
and 1578 links respectively, by a curved line 1482
links, by a right line 1830 links; Easterly by a road,
103 links; generally South-easterly by a right line
1781 links, by a curved line 1445 links, by right lines
872, 365, 248, 248, 310, and 476 links respectively,
by a road 2355 links, by a right line 3498 links, by a
curved line 362 links, and by north-western boundary
of Section No. 49 to commencing point 294 links.

Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 21 acres 1 rood 31 perches, more or
less, situate in Block XLI., Mabel District, com-
mencing at a point on the eastern side of the road
which forms the western boundary of Block XLI.,
2632 links distant from the south-western corner
thereof. Bounded-Westerly by said road, 103 links;
North-westerly by a right line 2914 links, by a curved
line 268 links, by right lines 2039 and 3525 links
respectively, by a curved line 1417 links, by a right
line 3869 links, by a curved line 2230 links; Northerly
by right lines, 160 and 5031 links respectively;
Easterly by a road, 100 links; Southerly by a road,
5189 links; South-easterly by a curved line and
road 2175 links, by a road 3869 links, by a curved
line and road 1441, 3558, and 2211 links, and by a
right line to commencing point 3010 links.

Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 21 acres and 3 perches, more or less,
situate in Blocks XLII. and XXXIX., Lothian
District, commencing at a point on the eastern side
of the road which forms the western boundary of
Block XLII., 1465 links from the north-western
corner thereof. Bounded-Westerly by said road,
100 links; generally Southerly and South-easterly
by a right line 8228 links, by a curved line 981 links,
by a right line 6677 links, by a curved line 1703 links,
by a right line 3187 links, by a curved line 236 links;
Easterly by road which forms the boundary between
Blocks XXXIX. and XL. aforesaid, 120 links; gene-
rally North-westerly and Northerly by a curved line
305 links, by a right line 3187 links, by a curved
line 1661 links, by a right line 6677 links, by a curved
line 965 links, by a right line to commencing point
8228 links.

Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 36 acres 3 roods 36 perches, more or
less, situate in Blocks XL. and LXII., Lothian Dis-
trict, commencing at a point on the eastern side of
the road which forms the boundary between Blocks
XL. and XXXIX., 2367 links from the south-western
corner of Block XL. Bounded-Westerly by said
road, 120 links; North-westerly by a curved line
1140 links, by a right line 10522 links, by a curved
line 322 links, by a right line 3243 links, by a curved
line 625 links, by right lines 1741 and 1516 links
