Mining Notices.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT WATER-
RACE.
To the Mining Registrar at Hokitika, and to all
other persons whom it may concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race and divert water for mining purposes,
commencing at a point on the most southerly creek
which flows from the Mount Tuhua Range into the
Kanieri Lake, the said point being distant about one
and a half miles from the said lake; from thence run-
ning generally in a north-westerly direction along the
southern slope of Mount Tuhua Range, a distance of
five miles; thence in a westerly direction along the
leading spurs towards the Bluespur, a distance of
about eight miles, and terminating at a point about 20
chains due south of Bluespur Township.
The length of such race is thirteen miles or there-
abouts; the mean depth of such race is 6 feet, and
the mean breadth is 6 feet; and it is proposed to
divert fifty Government-heads of water. The esti-
mated time for the construction of such race is two
years.
