Appointing Day for Election of Member of Board,
Waiareka Road District, County of Waitaki.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the persons entitled to vote at the
election of a member for the Teanaraki Sub-
division of the Waiareka Road District failed to hold
an election on the day appointed by "The Otago
Roads Ordinance, 1871," and it is expedient to
appoint a day for holding the said election, as is pro-
vided by the tenth section of "The Otago Roads
Ordinance 1871 Amendment Ordinance, 1874:"
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers vested in me by the said Ordinances,
and by "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," do
hereby proclaim and appoint that an election of a
member for the Teanaraki Subdivision of the said
road district shall be held at noon, on Wednesday,
the fifth day of July, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two, at the Schoolhouse, Cave Valley.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fourteenth day of June, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two.

Vesting Reserves in the Gore Town Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twelfth day of June, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule
hereto were reserved for a municipal endow-
ment for the Town of Gore, and Crown-granted to
the Superintendent of Otago on the nineteenth and
twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-six, for the improvement and
benefit of the Town of Gore: And whereas, in the
opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the
said lands in the Gore Town Board:
Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the fourth section of "The Public Reserves Act,
1881," doth hereby declare that, from and after the
day of the date hereof, the said reserves shall become
vested in the Gore Town Board, in trust for a
municipal endowment for the Town of Gore.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto was reserved for the improvement and
protection of the River Eyre, and for other purposes
in connection with the overflow of the said river:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is
expedient to vest the said land in the Road Board of
the Eyreton District:
Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in him by the
fourth section of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881,"
doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of
the date hereof, the said reserve shall become vested
in the said Road Board of the Eyreton District, in
trust for the improvement and protection of the
River Eyre, and for other purposes in connection
with the overflow of the said river.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Rangiora Survey
District, Provincial District of Canterbury, con-
taining 91 acres, more or less. Bounded-North-
eastward and Eastward by the road north of Section
No. 6090 and the Eyre Main Drain Reserve; East-
ward by Section No. 6482; South-eastward and South-
ward by Sections Nos. 3685 and 5707; and South-
westward and Westward by Section No. 5635 and the
continuation of the south-western boundary-line
thereof to the northern bank of the River Eyre, and
by Section No. 6090: and numbered 380 (in red) on
the official map in the Survey Office, Christchurch.

Authorizing Sale of Geraldine Town Reserves.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
WHEREAS by "The Special Powers and Con-
tracts Act, 1881," it is, amongst other things,
enacted that the Governor may authorize the sale of
the lands described in clause twenty-five of the
Schedule thereto:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursu-
ance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby autho-
rize and direct that the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall be sold under the following terms and
conditions:-
- The said land shall be sold by public auction at
Geraldine. - The price at which the lands shall be offered for
sale shall be at the rate of forty-eight pounds per
acre. - Three months' notice of date and place of sale
shall be given by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The notice to be advertised at least once in each
fortnight, as provided by the one hundred and fifty-
third section of "The Land Act, 1877."
