Opawa River; thence by a line along the centre of
that river to the western corner of Section No. 37,
Wairau West Survey District; thence by a line along
the centre of the new channel of the River Opawa to
the south-western corner of Section No. 85, Wairau
West District aforesaid; thence by a line along the
the centre of the old channel of the River Opawa to
the River Wairau, at the first-named point.

Omaka.-Bounded towards the North by the
Spring Creek District, from the junction of the
Wairau and Opawa Rivers to the north-eastern
corner of Section No. 50, Omaka Survey District;
thence towards the South by northern boundaries of
Sections Nos. 50 and 51, said district; thence towards
the East by the western boundary of Sections Nos.
51 and 3, in the said district, to Omaka River; thence
by Omaka River to western boundary of Section
No. 5, in said district; thence towards the East
by that boundary to north-west corner of Section
No. 6, in said district; thence towards the South-
west and South by the Awatere Licensing District
to the Spring Creek Licensing District, at junction
of Wairau and Opawa Rivers. Also all that portion
of the county bounded towards the North-west
by the Spring Creek Licensing District; towards
the West by the Opawa River to Section No. 47,
Opawa District; thence towards the West, North-
west, and North by Sections Nos. 46 and 47, Opawa
District, and Part 1 of Section No. 1, and Sections
Nos. 2, 4, and 6, Omaka Survey District, to the
Awatere Licensing District; thence towards the
West and South by Awatere Licensing District to
the mouth of the Awatere River; towards the East
and North by the sea to the mouth of the Wairau
River; thence by the north bank of the Wairau
River to a point in transit with the eastern boundary
of Section No. 32, Wairau West Survey District;
thence by a right line to Spring Creek Licensing
District, at the north-eastern corner of Section No.
32, in the said Survey District of Wairau West.

Picton. Bounded towards the South by the north
bank of the Wairau River, from its mouth to the
junction of the Waikakaho Stream; thence towards
the West by the said stream to its source; thence
towards the West and North by the summit of the
dividing range between the Kaituna, Mahakipawa,
and Waitohai Valleys to a point in transit with a line
bearing N. 60° W. to the deep-water landing-place at
the Grove; thence by the waters of Queen Charlotte
Sound to Karaka Point; thence towards the East by
Sounds County and the ocean to the mouth of the
Wairau River: exclusive of the Town of Picton.

Pelorus.-Bounded towards the East and North-
east by the Picton Licensing District and Sounds
County, from the mouth of the Waikakaho Stream
to Mount Elliott; towards the West by Waimea
County to the summit of the range between the
Pelorus and Wairau Valleys; thence towards the
South by the Awatere Licensing District to the
Onamalutu Creek, and by that creek to the Wairau
River; thence towards the South by the Wairau
River to Picton Licensing District: exclusive of the
Town of Havelock.

Havelock.-Bounded towards the North and East
by the waters of Pelorus Sound, from the north-west
corner of Section No. 97, Town of Havelock, to a
point in transit with the southern boundary of Section
No. 219, in the said town; thence towards the South
by a right line to the south-western corner of said sec-
tion; thence towards the West and North-west by the
western boundaries of Sections Nos. 219, 218, and
217, in said town; thence towards the West by a right
line to the north-western corner of Section No. 205,
in said town; thence by a right line to a public street
fronting Sections Nos. 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, and 96, in

said town; thence towards the South-west by the
southern side of that street to Section No. 98,
Havelock Suburban; thence towards the North-west
and West by Sections Nos. 98 and 99, Havelock
Suburban; thence towards the South-west by the
dividing line between Section No. 99, Havelock
Suburban, and Section No. 100, Town of Havelock,
and by that line continued across Neil Street to
Section No. 118, Havelock Suburban; thence towards
the North by a right line to the south-west corner of
Section No. 133, Town of Havelock; thence towards
the South-west and South by Sections Nos. 118 and
119, Havelock Suburban, to the south-west corner of
Section No. 117, Town of Havelock; thence towards
the North by a right line to the south-west corner
of Section No. 128, in the said town; and thence
towards the West by a right line to the north-west
corner of Section No. 97, in the said Town of Have-
lock.

KAIKOURA COUNTY.

Kaikoura.-Bounded towards the North by the
Marlborough County; towards the East by the
ocean to the mouth of the Conway River; towards
the South by the centre of that river to its source;
thence by a right line to Mount Ross; and thence by
a line due west to the Clarence River, the boundary
of Marlborough County.

AMURI COUNTY.

Amuri.-Bounded towards the North-east by Marl-
borough County and Kaikoura County, from Top-
house to the confluence of the Gelt and Conway
Rivers; thence by a right line to Mount Parnassus;
thence to the nearest of the Lowry Peaks; thence
along the summit of that range to the Hurunui River,
by the centre of that river to its source; thence by a
right line to the saddle; thence by a line along the
summit of the Spencer and St. Arnaud Ranges to
the Tophouse, the starting point.

CHEVIOT COUNTY.

Cheviot.-Bounded towards the North by Kaikoura
County, from the confluence of the Gelt and Conway
to mouth of the last-mentioned river;
the East by the ocean to the mouth of the Hurunui
River; towards the South by a line along the centre
of the Hurunui River to a point at the foot of the
Lowry Range; and towards the West by Amuri
County.

ASHLEY COUNTY.

Waipara.-Bounded on the North by the Provincial
District of Nelson; on the South-east by the sea;
on the South-west by the River Waipara to the
summit of the pass north of Runs Nos. 165, 166, 168,
and a line from thence to Ashley Head, Esk Head,
Snowy Peak and the Teremakau Saddle to the place
of commencement.

Ashley-Bounded on the West and South by the
Ashley River, from the road running between Sections
Nos. 1684 and 2673 to its source; on the East by
the road forming the eastern boundary of Section
No. 2163; thence by that road to where it crosses
the western boundary of Run No. 11; thence by the
latter boundary to the Makerikeri River; thence by
that river and the eastern boundary of Run No. 194
to the summit of Mount Grey; thence by the ridge
towards the North-east by the Waipara Licensing
District.

Kowai. Bounded on the North by the Waipara
Licensing District; on the East by the sea; on the
South by the River Ashley; and on the West by the
Ashley Licensing District.
