be situated in Block IX., Dunedin and East Taieri
Survey District, and in Block III., Township of
Barrfield.

Also dams or weirs to be constructed upon streams
known as Nichol's Creek and Water of Leith, and
the diversion and conveyance of the waters thereof
into service-reservoirs to be situated in Sections 3
and 4, Block VIII., North Harbour and Blueskin
Survey District, and Section 48, Block V., Dunedin
and East Taieri Survey District, and the conveyance
of water therein in pipes, conduits, aqueducts along
public roads and through Sections 5 and 1, Block
VIII., Upper Kaikorai Survey District, to supply
mill situated in said Section 1, Block VIII., Upper
Kaikorai Survey District; thence through part of
said Section 1, Block VIII., Upper Kaikorai Survey
District, and the Town Belt of Dunedin, across the
Water of Leith and along George Street and through
Section 17 to mill situated on Section 24, Block
XXXIV., Town of Dunedin.

Which reservoirs, pipes, conduits, and aqueducts
will be situated in the County of Waikouaiti and in
the Boroughs of Maori Hill, Roslyn, Mornington,
and Dunedin.

Power shall be taken in the Bill to open up all
streets in the said Boroughs of Maori Hill, Roslyn,
and Mornington, for purpose of laying or repair-
ing pipes, house-services, and all things appertaining
thereto; also to make valuations of property therein,
and to levy rates thereupon; also to compulsorily
acquire lands, streams, houses, and other properties
required for carrying out the said works, and for
diverting and impounding said streams; also to sell
or lease the said works and properties of the Com-
pany.

The Bill will also provide for the repeal of sections
4, 9, and 12 of "The Dunedin Waterworks Extension
Act (private), 1875," and of all statutes or parts of
statutes that may conflict with the powers sought by
the Bill.

The Bill will also provide for granting compensa-
tion to the owners, or those interested in land or
other property injuriously affected by the works of
the Company, in the manner provided by "The Public
Works Act, 1876," and also to agree, in place of pay-
ing a money-compensation, to grant certain water-
rights.

And notice is also hereby given that plans, sec-
tions, books of reference, and copy of the New Zea-
land Gazette containing this notice, will be deposited
for public inspection in the office of the Commissioner
of Crown Lands, Dunedin, on Monday, the 17th day of
April, 1882; and that a copy of the Bill will be deposited
in the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders,
Wellington, on or before the 1st day of June, 1882,
that is, within fourteen days after the commencement
of the session of the General Assembly. A copy of
said Bill will also be deposited in the office of the
Colonial Secretary on or before the 27th day of May,
1882.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Union Bank of
Australia (Limited) intend to present a petition
to the General Assembly of New Zealand, at its next
session, praying for leave to introduce a Bill to be
intituled "The Union Bank of Australia (Limited)
Act, 1882." By the said Bill it is intended to re-
peal the Ordinance of the Governor and Legislative
Council of New Zealand intituled "An Ordinance

for facilitating Proceedings by and against a certain
Joint-Stock Company called the Union Bank of
Australia, and for other Purposes therein men-
tioned," Session III., No. 7; and it is intended to
contain provisions continuing to the Union Bank of
Australia (Limited) the powers conferred on the
Union Bank of Australia by section 5 of "The
Banks and Bankers Act, 1880." Copies of the said
Bill will be deposited in the office of the Examiner of
Standing Orders on or before the commencement of
the session.

Between JOHN BOYES, Plaintiff, and CHARLES HEN-
DERSON CLARKE, and ANNIE, Wife of the said
Charles Henderson Clarke, Defendants.

HEREBY give notice that, under a writ of fieri
facias, duly issued out of the Supreme Court of
New Zealand, Canterbury District, against the real
and personal estate of the above-named Defendants,
at the suit of the above-named Plaintiff, I have taken
in execution all the right, title, and interest, being
the equity of redemption of the above-named Defen-
dant, ANNIE CLARKE, in all that parcel of land situate
in the City of Christchurch, at the junction of
Gloucester and Barbadoes Streets, containing by
admeasurement one rood and twelve perches, more or
less, and being parts of Sections Nos. 650 and 652
on the map of the City of Christchurch, commencing
at the south-eastern corner of Section No. 652;
thence due north along the eastern boundary of the
said section a distance of one chain sixty links and
two-thirds of a link, and extending back therefrom
at right angles a distance of two hundred and two
links, and forming a rectangular block; and that I
shall cause the same to be sold by public auction, by
Messieurs H. Matson and Co., at their sale-room
situate in Cashel Street, in the City of Christchurch,
on Saturday, the 6th day of May, 1882, at 2 o'clock
in the afternoon, unless the debt and costs shall have
been previously satisfied.

The Solicitor for the Execution Creditor is Henry
Selwood Austin, of Timaru.
