ALL that portion of the Counties of Marlborough
and Sounds known as the Wairau Lagoons.
Bounded generally on the West by the Wairau
River to the confluence of the Opawa, and by that
river to Morgan's Creek; thence by Morgan's Creek
and Sections Nos. 22, 21, and 20 to the north-west
angle of Section No. 18, all in the District of Opawa;
thence Southerly by said Section No. 18 to the Mud
Flats; thence Southerly by Sections Nos. 18, 15, 14,
part of 13, 7 of Block I., Section No. 8 of Block II.,
in the said district, and Sections Nos. 9 and 10 of
Block II., District of Awatere, to the Boulder Bank;
thence Northerly by the sea to the mouth of the
Wairau River, at the point of departure.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this first day of April, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.

Fixing Shooting Season for Native and Imported Game,
License Fee, &c., Waitaki District.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The
Animals Protection Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamil
ton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants may
be taken or killed within the Waitaki District, com-
prising the County of Waitaki, from the first day of
May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, to
the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two, both inclusive, and that
hare may be taken and killed, either by shooting or
coursing, from the first day of April, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two, to the thirty-first July,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, both
inclusive. And I do further notify that licenses to
take or kill such game within the said district shall
be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings
each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be
issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each;
and the Chief Postmaster at Oamaru is hereby ap-
pointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further
notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken
or killed within the said district from the first day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, to
the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two, both inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this first day of April, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of
Wellington, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be

then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve
from sale the land in the Land Districts of Welling-
ton, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland, described in
the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in
the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Wellington, containing by admeasurement 1 acre
2 roods 6 perches, more or less, being Section No.
1086 on the plan of the Township of Palmerston.
Bounded towards the North-west by a public road,
1180 links; towards the South-east by a Native
reserve and by a lagoon, 1210 links; and towards the
South-west by a public road, 225 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. For a recreation-
ground.

All that piece or parcel of land containing 1 rood
8 perches, being portion of Town Section No. 639 on
the plan of the Township of Palmerston North, in
the County of Manawatu, Provincial District of
Wellington, commencing at the north-west corner
of said Section No. 639. Bounded towards the
North-west by a public road, 80 feet; towards the
North-east by portion of the said Section No. 639,
165 feet; towards the South-east by Section No.
640, 80 feet; towards the South-west by Section
No. 641, 165 feet: as the same is delineated and
coloured red on the plan marked P.W.D. 8953, de-
posited in the office of the Minister for Public Works
at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Welling-
ton. For a site for a volunteer drill-shed.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 10
acres, more or less, being the reserve marked M,
as a Signal Station Reserve, on the plan of the
right bank of the Wanganui River. Bounded
towards the North-east by Reserve H, 680 links;
towards the South-east by a public road, 1300 links;
towards the South-west by the Flagstaff Battery
Reserve, 980 links; and towards the North-west by
Reserve H, 1,214 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. For a site for a signal station.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land in the Town of Ashburton,
containing 2 roods 2 perches, more or less, being Sec-
tions Nos. 1243 and 1244. Bounded-Northward by
Burnett Street; Eastward by Park Street; South-
ward by Short Street; and Westward by Section No.
1242: and numbered 2540 (in red) on the official map
of the Town of Ashburton, in the Survey Office,
Christchurch. For a site for a volunteer drill-shed.

OTAGO.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 10 acres,
more or less, situate in the Lauder District, and
being Section No. 43 of Block III. of said district.
Bounded towards the North by Section No. 20 of
same block, 1000 links; towards the East by said
Section No. 20, 1000 links; towards the South by a
road-line, 1000 links; and towards the West by
Section No. 25 of same block, 1000 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. For a quarry.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 10 acres,
more or less, situate in the Lauder District, and
being Section No. 44 of Block III. of said district.
Bounded towards the North by Section No. 23 of
