Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation :

And whereas the Land Board of Taranaki did,
on the sixth day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two, pass a resolution recom-
mending that the land described in the Schedule
hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on de-
ferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursu-
ance and exercise of the power and authority vested
in me by the above-named Act, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto is set apart for sale on deferred payments;
and that Thursday, the eleventh day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, shall be
the day on which the said land shall be open for
application at the Land Office at New Plymouth, in
allotments as surveyed and marked on the selection
map in that office.

In pursuance of section four of "The Land Act
1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do hereby declare
that subsection four of the sixty-third section of
"The Land Act, 1877," shall not apply to any of the
lands described in the Schedule hereto.

And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of
"The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do
hereby fix the price at which the land so described
shall be sold to be the price set opposite each allot-
ment in the Schedule hereto.

County of Rodney.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken under "The
Public Works Act, 1876," and "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," for a certain work,
to wit, the construction of roads in the Parish of
Kourawhero, County of Rodney:

And whereas the Rodney County Council has laid
before the Governor the memorial and map men-
tioned in and signed and certified as required by the
said Acts:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers and authorities in me vested
by sections twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three,
twenty-four, and twenty-five of "The Public Works
Act, 1876," and by section twenty-eight of "The
Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and
of any other power and authority enabling me in
that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby
taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from
and after the sixth day of April, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two, the land so de-
scribed shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple
in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages,
charges, claims, estates, and interests of what kind
soever, for use as a road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL those parcels of land in the Provincial District
of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand, con-
taining by admeasurement 8 acres 3 roods, 3 acres
1 rood, and 3 roods 7 perches respectively, more or
less, situated in the Parish of Kourawhero, in the
Upper Mahurangi Highway District. Portion con-
taining 8 acres 3 roods: Bounded towards the North
by a road-line, 104 links; towards the East and South-
east by lines, 1010, 1348, 477, 2469, 2586, and 852
links respectively; towards the South-west by a line,
111 links; and towards the North-west and West
by lines, 847, 2545, 2512, 477, 1313, and 969 links
respectively. Portion containing 3 acres 1 rood:
Bounded towards the North-east by a line, 111 links;
South-east by lines, 320, 520, 206, 633, 1087, and 408
links respectively; South-west by a line, 454 links;
North-west by lines, 1127, 666, 254, 596, and 237
links respectively. Portion containing 3 roods 7
perches: Bounded towards the North-west by lines,
373 and 543 links respectively; East and South-east
by lines, 197, 365, and 309 links respectively; South-
west by a road-line, 115 links.

Also all that parcel of land containing by admea-
surement 3 roods 37 perches, being portions of Allot-
ments Nos. 100 and 101 of the Parish of Kourawhero,
in the Tauhoa Survey District. Bounded towards
the North-east and East by other portions of Allot-
ments Nos. 100 and 101 aforesaid, 178, 410, 313, and
167 links respectively; and towards the South-west
and West by a public road 163 links, by other
portions of Allotments Nos. 101 and 100 aforesaid
33, 271, 355, and 116 links respectively, and again
by a public road 108 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less; and the same being more
particularly delineated on the map attached to the
memorial above referred to.
