sections of land will be open for application, on
deferred payments, at the Crown Lands Office at
Invercargill, on Thursday, the 23rd February next:---

Gold Fields Notices.
Gold-Mining Lease cancelled.
Mines Department,
Wellington, 13th February, 1882.
I Tis hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor has been pleased to pronounce the
under-mentioned gold-mining lease cancelled, and
that the ground is now open for application as if no
lease of the said ground had ever been applied for :--
John Fairless; 4 acres 3 roods, District of Charles-
ton, Nelson South-West Gold Fields. No. 550.

Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.
I N conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regu-
lations made under that Act for the granting of
leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified
that it is intended to grant leases of Crown lands
for gold-mining purposes to the applicants specified
in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid
objections against such leases.
Objections to the granting of such leases, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Lyell on or before
the 23rd day of February, 1882.
Copy of the applications made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Lyell.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANTS: Michael Moloney and party. Style
under which it is intended to conduct the business:
"Advance Quartz-Mining Company." 16 acres 2
roods, immediately west of and adjoining United Italy
lease, north side of Eight-Mile Creek, Lyell, in the
Nelson South-West Mining District.
Applicants: Patrick Jangney, Patrick O'Leary,
and Cornelius Londergan. Style under which it is
intended to conduct the business: "No. 2 North
Victory Quartz-Mining Company." 16 acres 2
roods, north of and adjoining Republic lease, New
Creek, Lyell, in the Nelson South-West Mining
District.
