Defining a District under "The Thermal-Springs
Districts Act, 1881.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the second section of "The
Thermal-Springs Districts Act, 1881," it is,
among other things, enacted that the Governor may
issue Proclamations from time to time defining
districts of the colony to be subject to the said Act,
being localities in which there are considerable
numbers of the ngawha, waiariki, or hot or mineral
springs, lakes, rivers, or waters: And whereas by
the said Act it is also enacted that, until otherwise
ordered by the General Assembly, the said Act shall
be in force within the Counties of Tauranga and East
Taupo only: And whereas the territory described
in the Schedule hereto is situate in the said County
of East Taupo, and is a locality in which there are
considerable numbers of ngawha, waiariki, or hot or
mineral springs, rivers, and waters, and it is ex-
pedient that such territory should be defined as a
district subject to the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the hereinbefore in part recited
Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the por-
tion of the said colony described in the Schedule
hereto, being a locality in which there are consider-
able numbers of the ngawha, waiariki, or hot or
mineral springs, rivers, and waters, shall be and the
same is hereby defined to be a district subject to
"The Thermal-Springs Districts Act, 1881."
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 29,900 acres, more or less, situated in
the County of East Taupo, and bounded towards the
North-east by the Wairakei Stream to its confluence
with the Waikato River; thence by that river and
by the Tauhara North Block for a distance of 34950
links; towards the East and South-east by lines,
1020, 2333, 3561, 6904, 4597, 8065, 8421, 19565, and
24830 links to Lake Taupo; towards the West,
South-west, South, and again towards the West by
the aforesaid Lake Taupo to the mouth of the
Kapara Stream; and towards the North-west by the
aforesaid stream and the Oruanui Block to the
Wairakei Stream, the point of commencement: as
the same is delineated on the plans in the District
Survey Office, Auckland.

Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in

Land withdrawn from the Deferred-payment System
in Taranaki.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:
And whereas the land specified in the Schedule
hereto was, with other lands, on the fifteenth day of
July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty, pro-
claimed as set apart for sale on deferred payments:
And whereas the Land Board of Taranaki did, on
the twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-one, pass a resolution
recommending that the land described in the
Schedule hereto annexed should be withdrawn from
the deferred-payment system:
And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the above-named Acts, do hereby
revoke the Proclamation above referred to, so far as
it relates to the section therein mentioned and
included in the Schedule hereto, and do proclaim
and declare that the said section is hereby with-
drawn from the operation of the deferred-payment
system.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION 54, Manganui District, 83 acres.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the

Commissioner for the Western Pacific,

twenty-sixth day of October, in the year
