Authorizing the taking and laying down of Roads
over Native Land in the Auckland Provincial
District.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

IN exercise and pursuance of all powers and au-
thorities enabling me in this behalf by "The
Native Lands Act, 1873," "The Native Land Act
Amendment Act, 1878 (No. 2)," and "The Public
Works Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
authorize

EDWIN FAIRBURN,
Government Surveyor, of Auckland, to take and lay
down roads over the lands specified in the Schedule
hereto, and for that purpose to exercise all such
powers as by the said Acts may be exercised by a
person legally authorized in that behalf under the
said Acts.

District.

IN exercise and pursuance of all powers and au-
thorities enabling me in this behalf by "The
Native Lands Act, 1873," "The Native Land Act
Amendment Act, 1878 (No. 2)," and "The Public
Works Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
authorize

WALTER HALLETT, Esq.,
Assistant-Surveyor, of Napier, to take and lay down
roads over the lands specified in the Schedule hereto,
and for that purpose to exercise all such powers as
by the said Acts may be exercised by a person legally
authorized in that behalf under the said Acts.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land District of
Canterbury.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the pur-
poses in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily
reserve from sale the land in the Land District
of Canterbury described in the Schedule hereunder
written, for the purposes in the said Schedule speci-
fied.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Rangiora Survey Dis-
trict, Provincial District of Canterbury, containing
10 acres, more or less. Bounded-Eastward by the
North Road, 800 links; Southward by the road north
of Section No. 10832; and Westward and Northward
by lines parallel to the eastern and southern boun-
daries respectively: and numbered 2506 (in red) on
the official map in the Survey Office Christchurch.
For a gravel-pit.

All the under-mentioned sections situate in the
Town of Ashburton containing 1 rood each, viz., 843,
844, 853, 854, 863, 874, 893, 894, 903, 904, 950, 964,
991, 1000, 1005, 1015, 1040, 1048, 1053, 1063, 1076,
1077, 1078, 1079, 1080, 1081, 1082, 1083, 1084, 1085,
1066, 1067, 1068, 1069, 1070, 1071, 1072, 1073, 1074,
1075, 1108, 1109, 1116, 1117, 1125, 1140, 1146, 1159,
1162, 1172, 1175, 1187, 1190, 1191, 1200, 1201, 1214,
1249, 1223, 1246, 1232, 1233, 1241, and 1242. For
municipal purposes.

As witness the hand of his Excellency the
Governor, this seventeenth day of August,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one.

Exchange of Land in Provincial District of Otago.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-eighth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," power is
given to the Governor to exchange any land set apart
as a reserve for other land of equal value as he may
think fit, and to make a Crown grant thereof ac-
cordingly:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said
Act, do hereby declare that the land mentioned in
the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be ex-
changed for the land mentioned in the second column
of the said Schedule.
